Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

My E55 - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Bernie Nelson - June 7 - 10:10 amWhen I bought this car I knew it was very powerful as the dealer gave me the keys to a demo and myself and my thirty year old son went for a test drive. The power the car has is unreal. It takes off like no other. It gives you a feel of pleasure and is actually much safer than a car that is much slower as it allows you to get out of the way of others in defensive driving and gives you great confidence by the way it handles. I drive a canyon fifteen miles each way everyday and love the way it handles. Dont get me wrong I am not a speed demon buy why would you want to spend an extra twenty thousand on a car when you can buy the E500. Its a great car and I recommend it highly

Never Buy Another One - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By jon - June 6 - 11:23 pmMercedes has lost its quality of years past. I purchased my E500 and for two years had nothing but problems with it. After 60,000 miles and $10,000 in repairs I traded it in for a Lexus.

last of the bank vault Benzs - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By jr17 - May 25 - 4:52 amI know my MBs trust me on this. The 96-99 E class is by far the best years of the E class. DO NOT buy a 2000 or newer. I have 215k on mine. Paint is starting to fade a bit, a little rattle in the Cat Conv other than that, it drives and runs like new. Chrysler ruined the name from 2000 to like 2007 or roughly around there. They tried to infuse their technology into the E class at this time and failed miserably. A 2000 E class is a K car with a MB star on the hood. The 99 is heavy, solid, and feels German. Its a little underpowered, and dont buy a 4matic if you are worried about gas. If you value your familys safety, want to to stay out of trouble, and want to look cool, buy a 99

Exotic 4 Door - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Greek Boy - May 11 - 2:00 amAWESOME car. This car pulls hard like my 2001 911 TT. Exotic performance that fits 5 people with luggage. Love this car since it looks like a regular MB to most people.

So far so good - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By lee - March 18 - 4:08 pmBought it two months ago. So far so good. Visited dealership due to torn front seat leather. They took care of it without question. Maintenances cost like oil change and stuff are on the high side but expected. All I can say the ride is smooth like driving it on butter, on my luxury not sport version of E class.

Nice car, but too much rust - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By e320_4matic - March 18 - 2:18 amNice car. Rusts too much for a car this expensive. We love how it drives. Gets good fuel economy for a larger family.

2004 E320 SPORT - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Vladimir Isov - March 10 - 4:30 pmI left a review here in March of 2008 when I first bought my Mercedes-Benz. All I have to say is after two years and 28,000 miles I have NOT been left on the side of the road, not even close. All I do is follow the maintenance schedule (the cars computer tells U exactly when to take her in for her maintenance) and put high octane petrol - thats it. By the way, I would take it only to a dealer with CERTIFIED technicians. Also, have a low deductible on your auto insurance. I had a "fender-bender" which cost $11,000 to repair. I know, its crazy, right? You gotta love MB.

Overall, not too bad - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By MP - February 27 - 4:00 pmThis was my first Benz when I bought back in 06. It did pretty well for the first year, but then the car started to have numerous problems. The wind sheild wiper stopped working, the CD player broke (and still is broken today), and some various other things seemed to not work the way they should after a while. We ended up spending about $6000 overall in the past 4 years. However, Im not really the kind of person that treats their car like a baby or even owns a garage, I also ignore regular servicing a lot. After we got all this fixed though, the car seemed to really work well and has continued to do so so far. Im not totally sure Id buy another Merc but Id definitely buy another German car

Good value Not Great - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Boston Beau - February 16 - 2:00 amThis is a great car for the money. I purchased used with 7k miles and have driven for 71,00 miles with minimal repairs. All highway but hard. I push through corners and speed limit and it never lets me down in performance or response. When I need to settle down and act my age it drives like a family sedan.Repairs have been brake pads@30k, rotors@40k and one odd repair at 65k fuel sensor $600.
