Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Different paradigm of diesel technology - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By CM - February 1 - 10:06 pmThis car is in no way similar to the diesels my dad drove; gone are the days of turning off the air conditioning to get up the hills on the freeway. The harder you push this diesel the more refined it sounds. It seems to have a deep well of power and torque that never stops pleasing. I love this car!

The E-Class - 2002 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Gloria Martin - February 1 - 10:00 amI enjoy driving my E-Class Sedan. When we drive through neighborhnoods with new homes people wave at us because in our Benz - they can tell that we really do belong there. If I park in front of a business and go in, I am shown much more respect than when we drove our Buick or Ford. I feel important when I drive our car. My only regret is that we cant afford the S-Class, Yet! Or that we may never be able to afford the Saloon!

$45K car for 55K (MSRP) - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By None - January 29 - 1:26 pmNot up to M-Bs reputation. Nice enough car; ride is not good at low speeds over any road imperfections. Nice at highway speeds. Per M-B and dealer, this is normal. Have to accelerate more going up hill, etc. due to inadequate engine which causes more fuel use. Lumbar is hard to adjust. Hood release hard to find. Underside of parcel shelf in trunk is not covered. Have to jerk spare tire cover out and force it back in. Wiper control hidden by steering sheel spoke making it easy to leave in auto mode. Results in wiper damage in car washes. Carpet and mats are thin compared to even medium priced competitors. Storage box on front of front seats hits back of legs. Interior is well done.

Luxury at its best! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By atldane - January 26 - 6:38 pmWe bought this CPO E350 for my partner 2 years ago and it has been amazing. Pure luxury! We have a Land Rover, a BMW, and this E350. All different, but the Mercedes is nothing but quality and luxury at its finest. We drive quite a bit, and this car is the most comfortable and smoothest. About to by the new style E class because this one has been a great experience. Our dealer is awesome and the car still seems brand new. This E class has 60k miles on it now, but feels like we just drove it off the showroom floor.

Proceed with caution - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By good info. - January 23 - 10:00 amThis is a wonderful machine in terms of handling. It is eye pleasing and driving fatigue on long trips is zero. But, it is an electrical NIGHTMARE. Dont waste your money underwriting mercedez R&D. I know the company knows of the drastic electrical problems yet they keep offering the cars for sell without warning. This is not like the Mercedez of old. Hey...who owns this company these days...certainly not a company that cares about the consumer. In 16 months my car has been in the shop more than 10 times for major electrical problems. I think more consumers arent complaining because they are embarassed to tell that a car with this reputation is soo poor.

The big foreign conglamorate? - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By azndude80 - January 19 - 2:00 amMercedes-Benz has always been a symbol of money, German pryde, and quality. However, I start to question this by the day. The new E500 has a decent engine, but I tought it shoudl be better. The inovative interior designs only leaves room for an error, especially the glove compartment. The breaks are little stiff. Evea Toyota Camry has smoother breaks and steering wheel. The exterior is gorgeous except the rims. It looks a tad tacky, which I loath in a Luxery Vehicle. Well at least my S500 is excellent. Tchhh, Mercedes look at what you have done. There was a technology bug with the SRS, could have been fatel if we werent responsible.

Driving my Sun-Roofed Bank Vault - 1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By DOUGCLEM - January 16 - 2:00 amI just acquired it!! Finally!Mega- comfort, Mega-quiet, Mega-class!! $93k new in 1995 got a buyer cupholders (Yes, I have them on the doors...$40 apiece), a decent sound system,super- chrome wheels, and the best drop-top coupe ever built. Ive heard that Mercedes lost money on every one that they built due to engineering costs. All I know is that I can fly this baby over bad railroad tracks at 70 mph and the cowl doesnt move a centimeter. 500 lbs of lead in the 4 corners will do wonders for cowl-shake. Doesnt help off-the-line acceleration, but shell boogie up to 130 mph without a whimper. Classic proportions, precision engineering, and faultless built add up to good investment.
