Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • Shame on you Mercedes - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

2007 E350, this is my 4th Mercedes and definitly my last!! Main seal went at 30K, power steering pump at approx. 55K and Transmission went DOA at 60K miles. What ever happened to Mercedes??? Quality stinks!! For the price of a Mercedes you can pick up two Jap cars and youll get your bang for your buck. I can assure you the transmission doesnt go out at 60K on Toyota, Honda etc.. Good bye Mercedes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go sell you cars somewhere else!!

  • Wish I agreed - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Sorry to say I cant agree with most of the E350-4M reviews. It has been back to the dealer 10 times mostly for electrical problems (oil level message, ESP/cruise failure but also incl 2 recalls). Nice ride, good fuel mi (27 hwy) and good performance but the reliability has been a nightmare. This was always my "one day Ill have a MB" - didnt do my normal comparison testing and am paying for it. If you want further quantification just check out the resale - dropped from $57k new to $37k in 14 mos!!

  • Good but could be great if they could FIX MY CAR - 2013 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Nice car but I recommend road testing on the freeway before buying. Mine makes a whine between 70 - 80 MPH. Dealer replaced rear end twice in 2500 miles. Still whines. They opened a "factory Case File" on my car. MB representative promptly called me and told me the sound was a "Characteristic" and they would do no more fixes, even though no other E350 does what mine does. I am stuck with a car that makes a whine on the freeway, and I have to drive a lot on the freeway due to where I live. Hard to believe that for this price point MB wont stand behind their cars. They used the "characteristic" line to avoid the car being labeled a lemon. Very Dishonest.

  • Strong reliable car - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I purchased My 99 E320 with 99k miles on it from the original owner with all of the records. I also own a sports car (Porsche 993) and a truck, and it seems I am always driving this car. The car just "fits" me and get good mileage (30 on the open road)and in solid as granite. I have owned several Mercedes and this car is as all of them tend to be, reliable and solid.

  • The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly - 1996 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

This is a great car to cruise the highway and indeed, a pleasure in L.A. traffic. Its very comfortable, turns heads, and will hold its own in an accident. The V6 & 4-speed are srong and reliable, with no major issues at 160,000 miles. However, the electrical problems are a nightmare. A dashboard light comes on every 3-4,000 miles. Notorious problems include faulty EGR valves, sensors, rattles, and a stereo amplifier that will eventually die. The only ugly thing about this car was the cost to maintain it. 10 months = $3,000, without a major repair.

  • Love my Mercedes - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This is the second Mercedes I have owned over the past 5 years. I switched to Acura for a while. The new E350 class is spectacular with the higher horse power (268) over the old 320. I had a S class and was disappointed that they hadnt changed in the last 5 years and went for the new E this time. It is loaded with lots of toys and i highly recommend the integrated SIRIUS satellite radio. Perhaps the best features of this car have to do with how others look at you while you are driving it. I got a special paint, Bordeux Red and it is very sharp and an eye turner. Overall I am very happy with the car and enjoy driving it alot.

  • Could be great - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Sold 2001 BMW 525IA for 03 320E RWD. Very good ride, excellent gas milage 9 (averaged over 29 MPG on a recent 500 round trip at close to 70 MPG). Really! Only problem I have had and it is hard to understand is the computer system that controls the stereo system. My vehicle was at the dealership for more than 3 weeks waiting for a new "gateway". Not good! Problem appears to have been corrected but this cars electronics are sluggish. Love the styling and the ride. Stereo sound is fine and interior is very good.

  • Too many problems - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I have experience all the problems everyone else has plus a hundred more. First was the A/C which fail twice, then I had a problem with the steering, they never where able to align it right and the car steers to the right more than it should (for safety). Then I had a problem with the switch that raises the vehicle, it always gets stuck, then my headrest stopped working, then my cd changer failed it does not work at all (I see this one is a classic),then my speakers are having a short circuit, then when I steer the wheel is making a horrible noise like a tire is loose, I also have the rattling on the engine, etc, etc, etc, etc

  • We shall see - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Have owned E550 for 2 weeks. In shop for last three days. Voice command inoperable ,drivers side airbag inoperable, rattle in dash. Dealer followed MB bulletin, did not correct rattle. Quality still a question after all the QA/QC conferences held by MB. Leased vehicle based on a complete makeover per MB and the deletion of the Bosh electric brakes which cost MB dearly in warranty costs. Wife likes style of car which is better than a 550i BMW. However the adjustable air suspension is not calibrated correctly. Neither the soft, normal, or hard setting provide a satisfying ride. BMW still a better ride and a true drivers car. Sold one of the last 2001 BMW 740i sports to do deal, I hope this was not a big mistake.

  • E350 Key to The Cure special edition - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

So far had the car for a month. Im very happy and satisfied with it so far... this special edition came with lots of extras! got it with 115K and it runs great. Well kept inside and out. Purchased the extended 24 month warranty just in case. The Karman Harmond stereo is amazing. I dont have to do much driving on a daily basis but find myself wishing I did just to enjoy more time behind the wheel. it has been a year now and I still feel the same about my car. It is amazing! I love it! no issues, runs great.
