Overview & Reviews
The E-Class sedan is completely redesigned this year. A more elegant body, along with more power for the V8 model and more luxury (including four-zone climate control and an optional massaging driver seat), bring the latest midsize Benz up to date. Last year's E-Class station wagon, however, carries over into 2003 virtually unchanged.
- Legendary solidity, effortless performance, state-of-the-art safety features.
- Firm ride for a luxury sedan, touchy brakes.

Dont buy this car...!! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By fomopopo - March 8 - 2:00 amThis was our first MB purchase, and our last. We have had every malfunction you can think of.. SOS, radio, tire presure, pulling to the right, and broken molding under front seat (check yours). I should have bought a Lexus. Dont walk away from this vehicle, run. Weve had little help from the MB headquarters, and the dealership is overwhelmed with malfunctioning vehicles. Ours has been in the shop 5 times in the last 9 months.

I Thought I Bought a German Built Car - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By knoxville - November 29 - 10:00 amOverall disappointed with the quality of the car. Paint job is poor and radio has fail within first 500 miles. Would Not buy a MB in the future. Acura or any Japanese car tops the physdo German car mfg.

Beautiful piece of junk - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By gotta_mb_lemon - April 30 - 2:00 amBought a 2003 E320 in October. Loved it at first. Since then its been in the shop 4 times. Three audio system failures, central gateway controller failures (kinda scary in a brake-by- wire car), thermometer and an apparent engineering glitch in the way the door locks in the drivers side door is built. It sticks and wont open sometimes. Mercedes corporate hasnt even bothered to contact us and express their concern. Dont but this car.

Hugh disappointment in Quality & Service - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Alex C... - January 24 - 10:00 amWithin a month after the purchase I started to have numerous problems like telephone system failure, too much engine noise, main screen & CD changer shutdown, etc. They took 5 days to fix these problems and then I had to take my car in again for almost same problems for another 5 days. They had to replace all those problem parts again just like last time. Now, Im starting to have some problems again like trunk closure & sunshade malfunctions, phone system problems, keyless GO malfunction, etc. I paid almost $70k with this vehicle including pretty much all the options. Now they are useless since they are the main things causing all these problems

Quality of the Mercedes brand is gone... - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By shaf - August 16 - 2:00 amRear window fell into the door!!!! The plastic carriage had broken. Service advisor told me, since the cost of this item is handled by the outsourced manufacturer of the part and not Mercedes, Mercedes does not care and has not and will not address this issue. Customer headache is not sufficient reason to address this problem!!?? Check Engine Electronics light comes on for no apparent reason...call the MB service advisor, am told not to drive the car but that I cannot get a loaner car for 2 weeks....he was very helpful in suggesting that I rent a car in the meantime!!!!!!!says they have 150 loaner cars, all are out

Make sure you have a good mechanic - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By lodenlee - July 30 - 10:00 amMy car spent 21 days in the shop, before it had 2500 miles on it. The car pulled hard to the right, the front end was totally out of aligment! It then went back in because the passenger side would flood everytime it rained. Something was wrong with the dam around the sun roof, causing the dam, side airbag and footwell to need replacing. now i just received a recall on the steering bolt... yikes, so much for quality for your money. You might want to wait a year or two to purchase, so they can work the kinks out.

Nightmare with E class - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Tell Truth - September 28 - 10:00 amLast Saturday I was driving it back home with my family in it. We were talking about weather to keep this car after warranty. Just when I was about to turn right to my home, I felt I lost control of the steering wheel. I pressed the brake as we were driving at a downhill and realized that the brake is not working. The car stopped at the curb. When I went to fix the car a guy waiting there told me same thing happened to him.
