Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Recently purchased. Car was built in Stuttgart (Sindelfingen) in April 05. The new M272 engine (3.5 ltr V6) is a dream. Together with the 7 speed auto gearbox it has power to spare at any speed. Fuel economy is also good, I guess the 7 speed auto gearbox is one of the mean reasons (at 70 mph only 2100 rpm...) It also has the appearance package with airmatic DC suspension. On the roads around Houston with a lot of uneven road surfaces it just swollows it with ease, while giving excellent cornering capability due to the dynamic control. Really do not need to buy the E500, this car has it all, a dream to drive. This car was built by engineers who succeeded in building one of the finest cars around.

For those who dont understand the difference between a vehicle that is designed for 65 vrs 155 this review will not be of help. While most car makers give you glitz to fool you how good their vehicles are, MB simply makes it happen. Try stopping from 75 and ask yourself a question, was it me or the vehicle that just saved my butt! MB will continue to move on. Other are simply just poor copies.

Just a quick update to tell u more about my E550 sport. I have put over 4500 miles since my purchase in March. Just returned from a trip to Vegas. I live in the LA metro area and drove instead of flying. At about 2000 rpm on the tachometer my car averages 82- 85mph. I held constant at that speed and my car got 27.7 mpg. The last climb to elevation over 5000 feet above sea level brought me just below 28mpg. For a V8 near 400 horsepower and torque this is truly amazing. If you drive it mellow, Wow. It pulled every hill without a downshift because of the ample torque. It frustrated others on its ability to make that climb at that pace. The EPA rates it only 23-24 on highway! Great Car!

  • Stay away from E320: Poorest quality - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

More problems than you can imagine with the computer, buttons falling off, phone not working. Worst navigation system (Acura & Lexus are better -- I have both). Car had a sticker of $62K new with options. Could have bought four Hundays for that. Made the mistake of buying the SCAM of an extended warranty when the original warranty expired. Nothing but excuses as to why something isnt covered. Hands free phone that came with car doesnt work. Now they are saying its "trim" and not covered. Do yourself a favor and buy a Lexus. Thats what Im going to do. Mercedes "Summer of Love". Give me a break!

The ride and overall performance are excellent. Have had some problems with the stereo, they have a computer glitch that they are correcting, had to install a new system in my car. The dealership had been fantastic, go out of their way to accomodate you in every way they can.

Took delivery of my 2012 MB E350 Sport "Launch Car" a little over a week ago. I must say this is my first Mercedes and I am very impressed with fit and finish and the upgraded engine. I test drove the new Audi A6, Lexus GS and the Infinity offerings. None of those cars had the warm classic feel of the MB. Even the new A6, while it is fast, the interior felt too busy and esoteric all at the same time.

Best in its class. A dream to drive. Go test drive one and youll see. I had a C280 before this one, but the E350 is worth the extra cash. A must have.
