Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Fun toy - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Tinku - July 31 - 10:00 amHad it for six months. Smooth accleration. Sped upto to 90 several times without realiing it.However, in the beginning it felt like I needed excess force on the accelerator (compared to my Camry). That problem seems to have gone.Love the voice activated telephone and CD changer. The telephone system is overpriced. Dealership people installing the phone system were not knowledgeable enough.

Almost two months in..... - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Golfdog1 - July 31 - 10:00 amI have had my 2004 E-320 almost two months and it is running fine. I didnt get the $2000 phone. The folks at RBM said that I should be ok using my cell phone because others have used theirs and had no problem. Just got back from Savannah and the ride was great! A couple of glitches (1 the feature to open all windows and moon roof at once dosent allways work and 2) the passenger side mirror doesnt allways turn down to show the curb in reverse. No mechanical problems (knock on wood).

smart and sporty car - 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Mani Bala - July 31 - 2:33 amEverything is fine except for blind spots. even with blind spot assist, it is hard to see on the sides vehicles approaching, as the doors are set higher than usual and mirrors are a bit smaller. The driver seat is set too low, does not raise or tilt backwards far enough to see the road better. Interior room is about the same as new C-class but center console on C-class is set too high limiting the space for the arms. just a few bugs.

Rebuilt engin at 10,000 miles - 2012 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By bdiv - July 27 - 12:06 amUntil April of 2013, I thought this was one of the best MB models I have ever owned. That was until the dealer informed me about a new service bulletin when I brought the car in for the 10,000 mile service. Short story is that a bad lot of wrist pins installed in the engine will need replacement. So, three weeks later I had the car back with a rebuilt engine! They replaced the pistons, connecting rods and wrist pins along with every other engine gasket, seal and screw!

Air Conditioning Issue Driving Me Crazy! - 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By LovelyCeremony - July 25 - 2:20 amI bought my 2016 E350 after looking at several luxury makes. The ride, comfort, and features of the car were far superior to any others in its price class. However, an issue with the air conditioning has made owning this vehicle extremely frustrating, and unhappy about my decision to purchase a Mercedes, along with frustration and anger at their response. Heres the issue Im having -- with no pattern, rhyme or reason, and with no warning, the two air vents on either side of the steering wheel stop blowing cold air, and bring in hot, recirculated air, for about 5-10 seconds. Its a noticeable sensation, and very unpleasant, especially when driving in 98-degree heat! Ive brought the car to the dealership three times, leaving it there for a week at a time, and they say they have been "unable to duplicate" the issue. Since this occurs on a non-regular basis, obviously theyre not driving it enough to have it occur when theyre driving it! I finally contacted Mercedes-Benz USA, and got this explanation from the rep -- "if the dealership cant find a problem, then your vehicle is operating the way it was engineered to do." Please dont insult my intelligence and tell me that a $56,000 vehicle is supposed to have the air conditioning blow hot air through the drivers side vents whenever it chooses! I am going to give them one more chance this week -- supposedly a "technical specialist" is coming to look at it -- and then Im going to file a claim under the Florida "Lemon Law." This may be an unusual issue, but there needs to be a resolution -- which, in my opinion, is either fix my vehicle correctly, or give me a purchase credit, minus the miles Ive driven it, for a new vehicle. What was supposed to be a pleasurable experience in my Mercedes has turned into a big problem. If anyone else out there has had this issue, please post about it! Thank you!

Great Reliable Car - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Spencer Brown - July 24 - 10:00 pmWe bought this car which was a demo by the seller at the dealership. We havent had any major problems exept for the back drivers side window wouldnt roll up one day, but we had to buy a new window motor for it, which it was under warranty at the time. It is a very comfortable ride and the emblem on the front makes the driver feel like royalty. It gets preety good gas milege exept for the fact we put premium gas in it while we put regular in my Tahoe. Overall this has been and excellent car. It would be perfect if the servicing wasnt so expensive!!

Only a little nervous - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By David - July 21 - 5:23 amI rode in someone elses E500, and liked it, not thinking I could afford one. I found a used on by accident, and, after driving about four used ones, found one I liked. Got a good deal, and a good deal on my trade-in. So far, the only problems Ive had have been two low-beams headlights going out, and not being able to replace them myself. The oil level tester told me it had excess oil in it recently, so I scheduled it for service 1,400 miles early, but Id rather not take any chances, and theyll replace the headlights for me. Seems like it only requires maintenance once a year, and alternating years are major, and minor services, so, not too bad. Car feels very solid. I like it.

My favorite Benz - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Stefan - July 21 - 4:40 amLeasing the car to have a safe ride for my family. I drive all current MB models on a regular basis and this is my most favorite model. The torque is neck snapping, more that of a 8 cylinder car. The vehicle is fast, safe comfortable. Ride quality is outstanding and handling is precise and firm. I got 38mpg, but you HAVE to drive 55mph constantly to achieve this. Higher speeds impact economy. Heated seats get warm and in a hurry. We had first snow and there was not a second of insecurity. Do actually like the CL55 AMG better, but there is that hefty price tag. About cupholders: It is a cultural thing, but I wonder what size cups some people use?
