Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Avoiding Pot Holes and Manhole Covers - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Buck Buchanan - October 24 - 10:52 pmMy wife loves this car and is her main form of transportation. I leased this car primarily because of all the advanced technology and was concerned that maybe there would be lots of maintenance issues. None so far, but to my surprise the run flat tire system got my attention--no spare! Prior to leasing I drove the car up and down the freeway that was close by and the ride was as expected. I did not look in the trunk and had no idea there wasnt a spare. (Ive owned E350s for 30 years and never was there not a spare.) Living in San Diego county you get used to driving on roads with pot holes and when you hit one with this car it is really jarring and even though the car was probably engineered for these tires, there is a marked suspension bounce and a slight bit of skipping if you happen to be in a turn. You feel EVERY bump in the road with the run flats. (I also purchased a battery operated tire inflator just in case the pressure ever drops on the tires when Im traveling in the hinterland as you are only guaranteed 50 miles running flat. Research indicates you may even have to replace the tire, which are very expensive and according to reviews are somewhat hard to find, and in worst case you wipe our the rim too--really expensive.) It is very obvious that a lot of effort has been made to reduce the weight of the car by eliminating some enhancements that used to be on the 2014. I have had almost zero maintenance issues in the 3000 miles the car has been driven, the only one is that the trunk lid does not spring fully open as it did when new causing a few head bumps. Otherwise we are very pleased with this machine--plenty of horsepower for us (85 years and counting). The ambient lighting, massaging seats, USB/Phone capability all are very pleasing. Wished they had stayed with the same navigation software as the 2014. Yes, the seats could be fully covered as before, but again that is probably a weight thing. Have not yet decided if I would purchase this car primarily due to my issues with the run flats.

What a great car - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Mike Mas - October 23 - 6:13 amI have owned this car for about 4 months and I am enjoying it more everyday. I have been averaging about 17 mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway (@75mph). I think this amazing considering the 5 liter V-8. Fit and finish like none other. Dealer service is A+. I am planning to buy one for my wife.

How will Lexus copy this one??? - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Rocky Mtn High - October 22 - 10:00 amPicked up the E500 2 days ago (ordered in June). The pictures do not do the car justice. Its gorgeous! Black with tan leather. Sold my Lexus to buy the Mercedes and now I understand why the valets always parked the Lexus in the back (they are real dogs!) but they are a reliable TOYOTA. If you get the E320 be sure to get the 17 inch wheels, the smaller wheels just dont work with this car.

Merc E320 4Matic is the best - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By bostonmerce320 - October 21 - 1:25 pmInitially , i use to be a big fan of Audi as i owned one , heavy weight and great dynamics i thought could not get better than Audi. But once i sat in E320 4matic i just loved interior and bought it without second thought. It never turned down my expectations. Once i was driving in New England Storm i took exit for gas and got stuck in 3 foot snow. But i now my merc can handle it like nothing , i switched to Sport mode and press the pedal it jumped of the heavy snow like a tiger everybody around just baffled as they shoveling hard to get their car out of snow. I can drive 50 miles an hour on ramps like nothing . I drove from Pittsburgh to Boston with 31.5 MPG , Jap owners went jealous..:)

Family Wagon thats fun to drive! - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Jennifer - October 17 - 11:10 amMy MB E500 wagon is the first Mercedes that I have owned and I am in love with it after driving it for just over a year. I spend a lot of time driving my children around and it makes a difference to have such a comfortable interior. I live in Minnesota and my 4Matic drives great in the snow! Ive had just two problems: 1.A faulty transfer case which was replaced and fully covered under the warranty and 2. Poor tire wear which was also a warranty item and the tires were replaced.

Go Baby Go - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Sam - October 13 - 11:23 amUnassuming power with effortless acceleration. Its sleek and comfortable enough to drive daily, but it can fly whenever you want. Its only a matter of time before my first speeding ticket.

Excellent over-all - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By NickP - October 6 - 4:33 pmCar has excellent ride and handling with 6.5 sec. 0-60 time. Does not get the cops attention but going 90+ feels like doing 40. Comfort for 4, excellent sound system. Very good brakes, spacious trunk. Mileage is consistently in the mid 20s highway running at 80.

First 4 months - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By mudbone - September 28 - 10:00 amThe first 4 months I owned this vehicle was nothing but problems. Came home one night and the trunk had magically opened. The interior lights were flashing on and off, controls would not work. Dealer had it off and on for two weeks. Door lock is set to open only drivers side door. Sometimes it unlocks the one door - other times it unlocks all four. Tilt wheel sometimes works - sometimes doesnt. I have had it 7 months now. Appears the problems have been fixed. Waiting for something else to happen...

Nightmare with E class - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Tell Truth - September 28 - 10:00 amLast Saturday I was driving it back home with my family in it. We were talking about weather to keep this car after warranty. Just when I was about to turn right to my home, I felt I lost control of the steering wheel. I pressed the brake as we were driving at a downhill and realized that the brake is not working. The car stopped at the curb. When I went to fix the car a guy waiting there told me same thing happened to him.
