Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • Best value car, time saver - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I have driven this vehicle new for 3 years (45,000 miles), I had to take it back to a dealer 6 times. 3 regular maintenance (oil change every 12,000 miles), 1 temp sensor flaky, 1 oxygen sensor replacement (kept giving engine fault error) 1 bulb burn out. Other than 3 oil changes I did not have to pay a penny (including the burned out bulb, Mercedes paid for it.) It drives like a dream (very quiet, just glides, not a grinding engine or bearing sound. I believe, it is the best value car.

Outstanding quality. A true road car. Exceptionally "sure footed" in all conditions. After five years and 41,000 miles this vehicle still looks and runs like new, a tribute to the manufacturing process.

  • Terribly Unreliable - 1998 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

never ever in my life would i have thought to recieve such a TERRIBLE car. 1 month after owning it, the headlights wont turn off. then the battery died. seeing as im in high school i was ok with it sitting for a day or two. but once i bought a new battery none of the electric component were working. (radio, speedometer, gas gauge, windows, door locks) i bought the car at 139k

  • E300 was not ready for production. - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Bought a 2017 e300 with P3 package, complaint. It is awful. Its been in the shop 4 times. Transmission issues, back up camera problems, climate control, HD radio does not work. Doors had to be slammed shut. Home Link did not work. There is still not a fix for the HD radio. It was in the shop for 2 weeks, with no resolve. It is back in the shop now for rear view camera intermittently working, climate control turning off and again to look at the HD radio. The transmission was fixed, and the body shop reset the doors on the third try. Ive asked the dealer to buy it back and they wont. 12/2016. Mercedes finally agreed to buy back the car due to its inherent suspension problem. Strangely the service records say no problem found.

  • Regular Electronic Issues - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Bought a 2014 e350 convertible with 11,000 miles on it. It was a MB certified pre-owned car. Fun to drive; problem was the drivers side window would not fully close. After four trips to the dealership in 4 weeks, the window would not still not consistently close. Hard to own a car you cant drive in the rain. The dealership was great - they tried the specified MB repair four times but it would not hold. The dealership took the car back with no hassle. MB was not good (: I spent $1,500 on prepaid maintenance that they would not return. Didnt matter that the car could not be used as a regular driver. You should be ashamed MB. My next convertible will be another BMW.

  • 2008 E550 4MATIC - Class Personified - 2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Just turned in my 2004 E500 4MATIC for a 2008 E550 4MATIC. The 08 is demonstrably better in virtually every category...build quality, tightness, ride, speed, just overall quality. Mine is black on black with Premium 2, Panoramic Roof, electronic trunk closer, iPOD integration, 6CD, sport package, wood steering wheel, window shades...virtually everything you can get. Hate the standard, and the sport wheels, upgraded to the 18" Mekbuda wheels; added chrome window sill, chrome door handle inserts, and chrome headlight rings. The car is stunningly beautiful. I have had many nice cars, however, I have received more compliments on this car than I could have imagined. Great car!

  • Excellent car - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Ive bought this 2003 model to replace my 1989 Mercedes 240. The new model is a much better car in many ways, especially the exterior and interior design.

  • Nice Car - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I traded a 1997 5-Series BMW,which I enjoyed in every way. Looked at and drove the 2004 5-Series BMW and left the dealership with negative views on its appearance and interior features. I tried the E320, gave it the same drive and bought it on the spot. Both my wife and I are enjoying it. We have lost our thoughts of BMW for the time being.

  • Not as good as advertised - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

The MB television ads for the 9th generation E class said they put everything the knew into this car. They must have lost a lot of knowledge dealing with Chrysler. The car is sluggish, the transmission shifts to slowly for the paddle shifters to be of any use, the exterior design looks stolen from the Accord, Sonata and Genesis. I bot the car 7 weeks ago, have about 3100 miles on it and already 3 trips to the dealer for "fixes" (not what I expected at all). I also didnt expect such poor gas mileage (17/23) when I got 19/26 with my Lexus 430 V8. The MB-Tex seats are horrible; leather covering should be standard, as should tilting & fold in outside rear view mirrors. E is overrated, alot.
