Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • Wonderful Car - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

My 4th Mercedes. I love it. Made the mistake of trading my 08 in on a 2011 BMW 535i. It was a dog! Traded back to 2011 Mercedes E550 Sport. No comparison. E550 more luxurious, just as sporty, better styling, much more comfortable, motor is much smoother, and transmission shifts much much smoother.

  • JUNK! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Pretty, prestigious, totally unreliable! We made the mistake of keeping this heap beyond its warranty period. At 48,001 miles the rear brakes failed ($500), and the sensor for the front brakes failed with 1/2 pad wear left. We also made the mistake of trying to take it on a trip. Car died after 300 miles. Had to be towed. Never own one of these heaps beyond the warranty period. All service had been done correctly and on time.

  • The Worst - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

My husband and I purchased this car from our niece, who was transferred to Hong Kong. We didnt even get it home before we started having problems. The front end needed repairs twice, electrical and wiring several times, 2 batteries, the alternator, the air conditioning. For the three years we have owned this vehicle, we have paid out nearly $10,000 for repairs. It is by far the worst car we have ever owned.

  • Great so far... - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Ive only owned my E500 for a few weeks, but at this point Im thrilled with it. My previous car was a 2001 BMW 530i and it was great, too, but the solid ride and creature comforts make the E Class a better car to spend a lot of time in. One questionable area is the feel of the brakes. They are difficult to modulate and the pedal is mushy.

  • Love my car - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I bought this car as a used car at a dealership. Got an excellent price. Has over 126k miles but drives like new. Everything works like new. The interior is in pristine condition. For people who spill the occasional drink the stainguard on the floor mat works marvelously. The gas mileage is averaging 35 mph with a/c in Phoenix at speeds averaging 70 mph. I read previously an issue with that but I havent experienced it. I drive 80 roundtrip miles daily and this car is perfect for it. My carpool buddy loves how comfortable the seats can be for his naps on the way home. The overhead lighting for the back seat passengers is very helpful for passengers to navigate maps, etc while Im driving.

  • What a car ! - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I just plain love this car. I ordered from the factory with Obsidian black exterior and options like the HID lighting, and just could not be happier. The pickup, performance and handling are stunning, the interior is perfect, and the sound system performs as well as the car. I specifically wanted a certain set of options, so I sat with my dealer and made a build sheet and waited for delivery from Germay and I am not disappointed. The car is all I had expected and more. I am a diesel lover - I also have a VW diesel and I just cannot adjust to how quiet and quick this MB CDi is. Mileage has varied between 24 and 32 MPG, and tends to run higher when my wife drives it. She loves it as well.

  • Best car I have ever owned! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Totally trouble free. This car has been as reliable as my Honda (no small feat!). 36MPG on the highway at 70 mph. Quiet, passengers have no idea it is a diesel. Performance is better than the gasoline version of the same car. This is the last year with the straight 6 mercedes diesel, as bullet-proof a motor as Mercedes has ever made. I would never consider buying another Mercedes that wasnt a diesel.

  • Great car - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I "upgraded" from E320 circa 2000 to the same model circa 2003. What a difference! The car is completely re-designed, everything is better - from seats that now include storage cmpartment in the front to trung that is twice as large. The car is much closer to S-class, it is larger and roomier than previous model. Overall - much better car.

  • Good Vehicle. - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This car is simply amazing. It handles like a charm but the rides not too firm. A definite buy.
