A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years.   So far zero problems with this car. I bought it transferred from Houston to Phoenix with 45k mi, and have 60k mi now. Everything is perfect. Fuel mileage summer 24/36 winter 29/38 city/highway. My typical city driving is 6 mile each way with 15 lights. hwy hilly and 75 to 80mph. Note ac use is the mpg killer in Phoenix.

  Great fuel economy. Great dealer support. My 3rd Benz and certainly not my last. Pity there are so little choices in North America for Diesels. Audi also has excellent diesel products.

  Best car I have ever owned. The ride is exceptional. The 4matic gets me through Buffalo winters with no problem at all. Mercedes got it right with this model year.

  An amazing car on all fronts. Relatively numb steering compared to my sports car but I expected such. A beastly engine. Distronic, blind spot assist, adaptive high beams are excellent features. I was in a significant accident with this car and I can vouch for the advanced safety features and structural strength of this car. This car is intact. I am a mercedes man from here on out.

  Most fun luxury sedan/check engine light - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

  I turn heads and people cant believe what you can get them for. However, my gripe is that in six months, it has been in to the dealership five times at least. Starmark is great but beware many things are not covered, I have paid $1000 out of pocket already and claimed $2000 more. And I also have the popping seat frame on acceleration etc. as another reviewer mentioned.(not covered by starmark). This is truly a love/hate relationship and my local service dept. hasnt impressed me with misdiagnoses only to be fixed at another dealership. Hope you all wont be as unlucky as me. In closing though this car is a wonderful combination of luxury and sport feel.

  Great car - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

  This is an amazing car. Consistently returns 30 mpg, while delivering great performance, safety, and comfort. The trunk is huge - our family of four has taken 2 vacations in it with no problems. Traded in a big SUV for it, a little worried about the downsizing. We have had absolutely no problems - this car is a perfect size for a family.

  This is my 21st MBZ. It has been super reliable. My servicing dealer, MBZ of El Dorado Hills, CA has been absolutely fantastic. When it came close to 50,000, the end of the warranty, they went through the car thoroughly and replace any component that they felt would present an issue, including the transmission.   Found a lemon - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

  Its a beautiful car, no question. My problems have been astronomic. Replaced the tires at 25000 miles. Poor wear in city driving. At 28000 miles I started burning a liter of oil per month. By 30000 miles, it had increased to 3 liters per month. Have since had the engine rebuilt. Mercedes said a new engine would cost 30k but to rebuild it would only cost 10k. They opted for the cheaper alternative. Other than that the car is fun to drive. Not crazy about the cd player in the trunk. Handles the road and is very attractive.
