Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

I love the car. Problems have been with normal service at particular dealers. Some dealers are so much better than others. Dont buy a diesel that isnt a turbo. 8.3 seconds 0 to 6 is not a bad time for a diesel.

Our family has owned three MB diesels, one reaching 530K miles (Ford truck hit it, o/w would still be driving it). Safety was our primary reason for puchase, along with MB durability. This Benz is typical solidity, heft ad assurance. There is some diesel grunt to the engine, but at 80 mph, its actually quiter tha the gasoline sister. Torque is breath taking.

Having taken delivery less than one month ago, this is, without doubt the finest 4 door performance sedan in the world today. the effortless power and handling just never ceases to amaze me. A recent 700 mile road trip turned into one of the finest motoring experiences I have had, with superlative comfort, exhilerating performance on tap, and total all round excellence. Driving is fun again! This car is definitely a future classic with superlative build quality and unrivalled appeal.

Repair costs are high. the turbocharger went out before 75K and at a cost of 5,000 to replace. At the time there were no rebuild kits available. Had to replace the oil cooler from leaking, the manifolds seem to clog early. The after market warranty policies are not worth the paper, but that is another story.

A rocket with decent fuel ecomony. Comfort with a killer sound system. A joy to drive. I love that black birdseye wood trim and steering wheel. The sports package is a must

THE RIDE IS VERY SMOOTH. AN EXCELLENT LUXURY CAR.

  • Very Strong! - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Mercedes Benz has struck a terrific balance between a comfort and sport. When cruising on the highway it is smooth and very responsive. When moving through the twisties, it corners with remarkable aplomb, offering little or no dive or roll. Great drivers car!

Car steering is a bit lighter than what im used to in previous MBs. The 320 seems slightly underpowered, but not so much so as to make me want to spent the additional $s for the 500. Superior Road Car - Can drive for days at high speed with no fatigue.

Just recently bought an E350 4Matic. Before this, I had an Audi A6 3.2, which was fantastic in the snow. This is just as good. I love the incredibly smooth ride, the huge glass roof, and the timeless look of the car. A few things though Im a little disapointed with. In my A6, on mostly the highway, I was averaging 32MPG. In this, about 24. Not as good as I hoped. A fun feature is being able to fold the rear headrests down from the front (especially if ppl in the back are sleeping) but they are very uncomfortable when they are up and theres no button to raise them once they are down(Annoying). Overall, the car is beautifully well done, but I think a facelift is needed sometime soon.

  • Disappointed. Wish I hadnt bought it. - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Check engine light came on after 20 miles. Struts had to be replaced after 3,000 miles. Suspension still a problem. Navigation system is a disaster. Seat controls not working properly. After 6 months and 3,000 miles, I am considering getting a new car. I wish I had not bought this car!
