Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Expensive Fun - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By sport shifter - August 30 - 2:00 amI purchased this E430 Sport with 32k miles. Overall its a great car with a few minor problems that are somewhat a headache. All repairs were covered under warranty. Digital instruments cluster replaced due to faulty LEDs, dashboard cracked around the passenger air bags (very common problem)and window motor side replaced. This is our third Benz and I have come to realized that the Benz cars are not the trouble- free car everyone who doesnt own one think. But still a great German engineering at a substantial cost. But when you own a Benz, everytime you get in your car, your always getting inside a Benz.

E 320--Nearly Perfect - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Donald Aultman - August 30 - 2:00 amThis our fourth Merecedes: 1980 450 SL, 1981 300SD, 1990 300E, and a 2004 E320. Drove the SD 10 years, 200,000 miles. My wife totaled the 300E in six months, when an 18 wheeler pushed her into a bridge on I75. But she walked away whole, only a red nose from an airbag. We have owned Jaguar, Lincoln, and Cadilac. My wife, now very safety conscious, drives a beautiful 2000 Volvo S80. These are fine vehicles, but none, including the Mercedes, compare with the 2004 E320. For my driving taste, my 04 E320 Mrcedes is the nearly perfect machine, by far the finest car I have ever owned.

Turns heads - 2002 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

By shill17 - August 28 - 10:00 amReliable, comfortable, safe and manuverable. I have driven in every road condition and find I am as rested after a 3 hour drive as I would have been had I been a passenger.

dont buy this piece of junk - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By JayKay - August 25 - 10:00 amhaving spent over $60,000 I expected more.....car came in with incorrect color. The cars performance is great - and fun to drive. BUT, the reliability is not worth it! Its been back to the dealer countless time for electrical problems (phone/audio/locks). Wanted navigation at time of purchase - was not available. Dealer said I could add later - turned out to be a lie. Dealer is pathetic and arrogant. About to turn in for a competitors car - unlikely to buy another MB. (this was my second). Dont waste your money on this car - better choices out there today.

My last Mercedes - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Aphra - August 23 - 9:36 pmThis is my third and last Mercedes. Since buying it in 2003 I have replaced the transmission, radiator, electrical system, plus 3-sets of tires, 4 sets of brakes. In 2008, I spent $4700 on car repairs alone! I wish I had sold this car years ago! My other two cars were trouble free but they were diesels. Its a pretty car from the exterior but the interior has not worn well

The best or nothing? - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By hank55 - August 23 - 2:26 pmMy glamorous E 320 @ 38k miles start to show rust bubbles all over the body and cracks around the passenger air bag on the dashbord, the wood finish on the center console is peeling out, the turn signal is loose from the base, I must say that this car is garage kept and no winters what so ever! so when I call MB they request pictures of the car, no problem, then Mary call me and refuse my claim saying that the car was too old to help me, I explain that I have a ML with more miles and no rust and there are more cars like mine around the globe with the same problems and how MB help them out again the anwer was no and also the supervisor said no!
