Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • Newer E320 Wagons - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

WE upgraded from a 2000 wagon. The 2004 model amazed us in the improvements both on the inside, but more importantly on the drive. The newer models start from a stop faster and they corner even better. Only negatives really are the price and the reduced head room for the rear (3rd) seat.

  • Quality All Around - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

High quality car with great handling and performance. The 550, V8 is far superior to the 350 and well worth the added $8K. Sound and multi-media system is A-1, dynamic seats are fantastic.

  • German Cars Not so Perfect - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The car has less than 2000 miles on it and has been in the shop TWICE already. The first time, they replaced a sensor to correct an idle problem. Within 48 hours, the "check engine" light came on and it went back to the shop. This time they kept it overnite, replaced another sensor and now Im keeping my fingers crossed.

  • Best yet. - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This is my third E-class (1997, 2003, and 2010), and its the best of the bunch in most areas. The transmission is a major step up, and the ride and steering are even better than before. The "Command" system requires a steep learning curve, but it is all you could ask for in terms of options. Im not sure what the mileage will be after some long trips, but in the 1600 miles Ive driven so far (mostly around town) its 21.7, which is not bad but not quite up to the 23.5 that I got with the 2003 (overall for 107,000 miles). I hope the reliability improves: it was substandard on the two previous models, which was my only major complaint. Outstanding safety features make up for this, however

  • Good bang for the buck - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

  • Bad Car - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I bought this car, my first Mercedes, and while driving down the road, with the family, the front drivers side coil spring came flying out. This also caused the ball joint and the tie rod to give up the ghost. Asked Mercedes for help with the bill, 1700.00 and got a resounding NO!. Seems like this should be a recall, and or Mercedes would live up to the mechanical default without me having to hire a lawyer. Wont own another, I will but something that doesnt self destruct while Im driving down the road.

  • Lived up to its expectations - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I am from Singapore. I must say that this E class is definitely better than the previous E.(I sold the old Efor this). Sohpisticated Air conditioned system. Wonderful styling both interior and exterior. Personnally, i feel the brakes are superior to the previous e, giving drivers a very sensitive yet gradual braking feel.

  • A very solid car but horrible nav system - 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Bought car because of incentives (with premium I package paid only $39k AND got 2.9% financing for 5.5 years, plus sales tax write-off)! The car feels extremely solid and stable and has a remarkable balance of comfort and sporty driving characteristics that few other cars can match. Interior and exterior design are very nice and materials and assembly are first rate. However, vinyl seats are totally out of place in car with MSRP of 57k. They are extremely uncomfortable (sweat inducing and sticky when less than 40 degrees F). Navigation system is a nightmare, too. Nothing is intuitive or easy and even after studying manual for hours the system is still fury inducing.

  • A Great Machine - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Purchased a CPO E320 Bluetec with 24K miles. Impressed with build quality, drive ability, features. Im 64, 220 lbs, and have plenty of leg, hip and headroom both as a driver and as a passenger (can sit comfortably behind drivers seat which was set to my specs). Took a 1K mile shakedown to NW PA and averaged about 35.5 mpg in mostly highway driving between 70 - 75 mph. Stone quiet, provides a great sense of confidence in ride and handling qualities. Only quibble is the COMMAND radio system, for its apparent sophistication, has no satellite radio standard. I do not miss nav - thats why I use AAA maps!

  • Great time to buy - pricing is excellent - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

The Mercedes E350 convert is brand new for 2014 - a redesign, and well worth it. The interior is just sick....The Premium 1 Package anlong with the Sport Package are a must have with this car. The AMG wheels, wood and leather steering, Keyless Go options are a must. The Harman/Kardon Logic 7 stereo system, Navi & Rear Camera com[plete the driver experience. Bought it for my wife, and happy wife = happy Life - Sticker @ $68,945 - out the door in September $60,842 - wow
