Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

When purchased new, the E320 had too many adjustments and repairs that were needed. Replaced glove box,ash tray, drink holder, front seat bolts, dead battery, computer mod, str. wheel tilt switch, and loud/rough Goodyear tires from MB. This is not normal for MB to have this many problems. NOW, re-sale trade-in/value does not come up to what is owed on the MB Credit Corp. 4 year note. TIme to trade.

  • Do Not Consider - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Between my wife and I we have at least 8 Mercedes. On or about late August we both leased and had delivered two 300E sedans. Hers was fine, mine with 40 miles on it got caught on a parking bumper and the entire front came off. When I picked it up at the body shop I learned there was already the same model in the shop for the same reason, the model could not have been out more than three weeks. I was out of pocket $600 and my insurance company out $3000. I measure the front of my car and it was just under 3" from the ground. My wifes was 6", when I inquired from the dealer I was advised that warning lights come on when the car comes to a bumper. It happen again at a 1000 miles and again towed to Mercedes. Mercedes Financing and USA refused to do anything about my second event and advised from Maria at USA the warning lights come when something in front of the car; but, not as low as three inches. So there the car sits at a dealer building storage charges and on my way court.

  • New E350 Miles Ahead of the 2009 - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Ive owned a new Mercedes Benz every year for the past 4 years, and this one is "miles ahead" of the older models. The first thing that I noticed that was different was the ride and handling. This new E350 handles with outstanding agility. The ride seems a bit more refined than my 2009. The interior is far superior, especially the placement of the main screen for NAV and Radio, from lower front center to upper front center, making it easier for me to look at when driving. The interior is more comfortable, especially the seats. Visibility has improved as well. This is the best E Class sedan I have ever owned, and Ive owned 8 of them int he last 20 years.

  • what a sweet upgrade from an aging e420 - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

7 months left on orig warranty - dealer tossed in 4yr 100k starmark extended warranty love the ride and the graphite leather interior with contrasting piping is sharp - feel like I got my moneys worth ... will check back in a year and let youknow how it holds up.

  • the new E500 - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I bought mine came with the Sport Package, I like it so much with the interior design as well as the exterior design. I am only 33, if it was last year I would have got a BMW 540 instead. However, there is no way you could compare the 540 with this new E500! We are only to see more people at my age getting the new E-Class! Sorry, BM...

  • Cachet name, but ........... - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I drove the new E class as I was contemplating a new lease deal. Unfortunately, this new E class with the 4 cylinder turbo engine was not as good as its ancestor. The old sport 4 door E350 with the larger six cylinder engine was larger, quicker, quieter, had a better ride. IMHO the new E300 was a disappointment. For a car which lists over $50,000 leather seats were not even standard (they had vinyl seats called leatherette). Not what you would expect in a car of this class. I did read Consumer Reports prior to test driving the E300 and I would agree with their objective 50 test assessment. The E300 was not a top 10 luxury car selection. On their suggestion I am presently deciding between a Infiniti Q70 and a Lexus GS350. Both are very RELIABLE and are fun to drive. IMHO, every car has its quirks but you just dont too many of them. Read CONSUMER REPORTS then do some driving before you lease/buy.

  • Slick and quick - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The E500 is an exceptional automobile in that the ride is well controlled and yet it is not harsh by any means. It has ample power and the adaptive transmission is silky smooth. The style is not in your face so to speak, yet it is very tastefully executed.

  • Dream to drive, needs a few upgrades - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Have been driving my 2010 E-class for 3 months. Great car. Combines the best of a BMW and Lexis: sporty handling of a BMW but with the well designed, classy interior of a Lexis. Awesome, voice-activated computer system. Tell the car what you want it to do, and it does it. In fact, it does so much that it takes quite a bit of time to figure out how to use all the systems. Im still learning. A few shortcomings: leather seats, automatic trunk closing, push-button start, and air conditioned drivers seat should be standard. No eyeglass holder. Two real annoyances: drivers seat does not automatically push back when car is stopped, and car must be running for garage door opener to operate.

  • My E320 experience after 14,000 miles - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

The car is solidly built, like a "bank vault on wheels". It handles quite well in the rain at high speeds. I get an average of 25 MPG combined local and highway driving, computer showed 30 MPG at one time during a two hour freeway trip averaging 75 MPH speed. If you are looking for a safe, well engineered car with the latest technology, this is the car for you.

  • Good Bad Ugly - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Good. Very powerful on highways. Excellent highway performance. Gets you there safely. Bad. Original tires were poor. AM Radio didnt work for 18 months. Ugly. Paint seems to chip easily. Style has gotten dated quickly in my opinion.
