Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Really Enjoyed the Ride - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By george wilds - March 2 - 5:41 pmMBZ has costly repairs once out of warranty. Find a reliable mechanic comfortable with the brand. A pleasure to own, however.

1998 Mercedes 320 E - 1998 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By TLK - February 24 - 5:16 amThis is my second Mercedes. The first was a 1984 300D, Both cars drive exactly the same. Except the 320 has Superior acceleration, perfect handling. In hard corners, it leans, then sticks in position until leaving the corner. Okay, the "air" had to repaired under warranty. Not under warranty was right rear window lift, and the dual cooling fans. Remember, German cars were built to be driven hard! They thrive in RPMS and enjoy hard corners! Ask any knowledgable BMW or Porsche owner. I had a 1979 320i BMW. That car drove better at 120,000 miles than when it was new. Dont baby these cars. Drive them hard!

7th MBZ and 4th E Class - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Larry in Los Angeles - February 23 - 2:00 amPurchased the 2003 E Class 4,000 miles ago. Came from a 2000 BMW 528i and 2002 Audi A4. The E is certainly NOT a BMW, but does not purport to be. It is quiet, very comfortable (a little too slushy, but not objectionable) and has all the necessary toys. So far, other than a very small rattle in the overhead lighting array, it is absolutely silent. Getting 27 MPG on the road to Palm Springs. The Audi was noisy and very rough riding (sport package with regular non-low profile tires). Thats why I dumped the Audi after 9 months. It was a pleasure getting back to a truly luxurious and quiet automobile. Build quality is getting better and so are the interior materials.

Getting closer to perfect - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By FRANK M. BUSELLI - February 20 - 11:43 amThe overall look of this vehicle and driving impressions are most favorable. The race to pack the cockpit with mostly useless distracting electronic features, however, is annoying to this driver and I would suggest redirecting that effort toward improving the weight to power ratio combined with better fuel mileage. Lastly, the Sports package , offered at no extra cost, provides a somewhat better ride and appearance profile---- but watch out for curbs and the like that tend to be higher than that ground spoiler!

Almost Awesome - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Limbo199 - February 17 - 4:33 pmI picked up my new wagon on Saturday, and drove it from Philly to Baltimore and back on Sunday. Overall, a very good ride. Incredibly comfortable and great stereo. Decent cornering, but the engine could use another 40 hp.

I want to throw my E430 on the junk heap - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Bearvark - February 17 - 2:00 amMy 2000 E-430 4-matic is a piece of garabage. It has only 7,500 mi. Every 6 months it goes in for some major repair.Ive had the radidiator, fuel tank, entire instrument cluster and major AC components replaced and repeated problems with the steering column, among others. Mercedes says "that is why they have warranties". When I mention my warrranty is about up, they tell me dont worry everything is fixed. I have zero confidence in that statement. Unfortunately, I purchased the car. When I inquired about some type of accomodation on a trade in, they refused. I guess they no longer build a decent car nor care about customer satisfaction.

Is this a LEMON? - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By NomoreBenz - February 11 - 10:00 amAfter saving $63,000 and waiting 3 months for delivery, Im not happy at all. At delivery, both seat backs was loose, AC auto makes loud noise in operation, engine noise is excessive, at low cruising car bucks and launches when accelerating, sun roof electronics are not functioning as designed, there is a shuttering sound coming from the out side of car at speeds over 60. All this and I only had the car 6 weeks! What happened to Quality insurance and delivery inspections. Im taking this car back to dealer calming I got a LEMON!!!!!

5th and Best MB Ive ever had - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Katcat - February 11 - 10:00 amIve had two other Es (good cars), an S500 (expensive junk), and an ML (less expensive junk), and my E500 is the best MB Ive had yet. It has renewed my faith in this company. The sport pkg was worth it; the car handles like a dream. The Command system is intuitive - easy to use. MB customer service was exceptional in this case. My car was one of the 1st in 2002, and didnt have a nav, but I bought one to be installed when it was ready. The nav that was designed couldnt fit the configuration of my car (ridiculous design error), so guess what? MB gave me a brand new car with nav after 6 months of use!
