Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • safety issues - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This car since I leased it 3 moths ago had many electronic issues, the car was suppose to have accident prevention system which should stop when the car may have a colision if the driver doesnt stop . I have involved in minor accident as I didnt see the car on te dide front stopped suddenly while turning , obviously the car did not stop. I compainted to Mercedes USA and they claimed the car was working properly. So my question is how can they claim this as a safety features?! This was exactly the car was supposed to do, stop! This is a complete misrepresentation from Mercedes-Benz USA. The car also is too expensive for lease.

  • Poor Tires - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Overall, this is a wonderful automobile-my 4th E Class Sedan. However, I have had a very bad experience with the Continental tires supplied in this sport model. I had 2 blowouts and a bubble in the sidewall of a third tire in 4 months of ownership, 5000 total miles. I admit that driving in the Northeast with potholes is stressful on the tires, but I have never had a blowout before. I suspect that these tires have a weak sidewall. Continental and Mercedes customer relations have been no help.I would recommend the luxury version with the smaller wheels in areas of the country with uneven roads.

  • 1997 E420 is Junk - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I bought this car new in 1997 and it is one of the worst cars I ever purchased. It gave me lot of grief and frankly I wouldnt have been as disappointed if it had the Chrysler logo instead. Its motor had to be changed twice, All window motors broke down, speed sensor gave up, AC didnt work. Shock absorbers crumbled into pieces, and more - all in first 5 years! Frankly, I and some of my friends gave up buying Merc in favor of BMW. The car has only 93K miles- but it is a hunk of junk and been a LEMON. I have a 10 inch thick file with notes and problems that Mercedes had to fix. Stay away from MERCEDES, if you want peace in your life!

  • Fantastic - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This car is fantastic if you want dont care for the driving experience that BMW provides. Dont get me wrong though, I love the way this drives, but I just started a family and wanted a smoother, more luxurious drive. I think this car cannot be beat in its class. We looked at the 2011 BMW and the interior design and technology doesnt compare to the E350. We also looked at Lexus GS 350 and were considering the Jaguar XF, both of which did not seem to offer the luxury drive that the E350 did. I love this car, and I highly recommend this car to anyone.

  • Best Car Ive Ever Driven - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

We purchased this vehicle over 3 years ago with reservations based on negative reviews from consumer reports. After purchasing and over 3 years of ownership, I can confidently say that this is the best car Ive ever owned or driven, especially for highway driving. Weve had a few issues..., new brake pads, and battery, but, overall the car has proven to be very reliable. The comfort level is like no other and Im almost certain, when the time comes, well be purchasing another one.

  • A Great Ride So Far - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

We bought our 05 CDI with 48K on it 1 year ago tomorrow so I thought this would be a good time to right a review since I came here to read a bunch before I bought it. This car is a joy to drive and has been nothing but great for us. We downsized from an 07 Suburban because we really didnt need the room anymore and the Suburban is hard to give up if youve ever driven one. Great mileage, pretty much 28 in town and 35-37ish highway. This car feels safe, drives great, is quiet and has been bulletproof. I had one service issue, a door lock problem. The extended warranty covered it for 100 bucks. Drive one and put your foot into it. The diesel torque will put a smile on your face, I promise.

  • Smooth and Quiet - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Smooth and quiet was my objective in a luxury car due to hearing problems and headaches caused by a fun but loud and harsh sports car. Fotrunately I found what I needed. I would ordinarily not consider a six cylinder, good power and performance with a smooth ride engine, but I tried the E350 and was very pleasantly surprised. In town economy is outstanding.

  • Great Car Twelve Years Later - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Bought my 2000 E-320 with 150K miles on it..and it was virtually perfect in all respects. Ran and rode great from day one. Paid $7K "out-the-door" and Edmunds says a dealer "should" charge about $5000 for a similar car, but I have seen most, in very good condition, upwards of $9K, so I feel what I paid was a moderate "deal". Car run very well...Zero service issues excepting a driving light wiring harness, $150 repair by MB. When I purchased had three outstanding recalls...all fairly "cosmetic" (rubber door seal replacement, etc.) and MB dealer did without any cost. "Problems" with paint chips, CD changer, air flow sensors, ac failures others have reported are non-existant on this car.

  • Worst car Ive ever owned - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

When I bought this car I thought Id own it for 10 years. Problems started 6mos. into owing. Hands free phone then CD player failed, followed by fuel tank gauge, leak in air conditioning system, LCDs in instrument panel, vanity mirror several times, rear windows and too many others to list( which are identical to most other peoples complaints). Paint chips and scratches too easily. My husband has never had a single problem with his car which was half the price. Only thing worse than the car is the customer service at the dealers and MB of America!!!! Just traded it in for a Honda Accord. Happy Day for me!!!!!!
