Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Unfortunately the standard 5 minutes test drive at the dealership is way too short to get to know any car. The great things about this car are very obvious, so I will only mention the lows. The ride is excessively firm, it feels like riding a cart with wooden wheels. The firm suspension and the low profile tires make the ride very harsh even in "comfort setting". The air suspension is only on the rear axle. It probably would ride better with all around air suspension, slightly thicker tires and with one setting for real comfort. In my opinion it is hard to live with this car as a daily driver. Luckily for me I have the GL SUV as well which I use for any ride that would take more than an hour.

I drove my E350 960 miles one way. I got 30.9 miles per gallon. It gave me the pickup I needed to pass at 60 or 70 miles per hour. This car is great. I love it and wouldnt want another car.

I purchased my 2005 CDI in March. Its a great car! Powerful, great mileage and range, and very quiet at cruise. I get bored with cars quickly, but can see myself driving this one for a while. I wish it had bluetooth - Mercedes needs to get busy with this option. I thought I would not appreciate the dynamic seats, but wow...they really help with support taking aggressive corners. If you are going to purchase an E-Class, this is the one to get.

Luxury car, hot rod performance, and great fuel mileage, sounds like an oxymoron, but its true. This car will effortlessly out accelerate many so called high performance cars to 60 mph. Very comfortable inside with all the latest gizmos. Super sound system that rocks the car. Rear sunshade is great for those tall trucks with their headlights in your rear view. Lots of storage space. Folding rear seat option is great for those trips to the hme improvement sore. Navigation system is easy to use and the voice control system is a super feature for hands off operation of the Nav, CD, pone, stellite radio, etc.

Car has been nothing but problems. Back Window has fallen down twice already and required a $500 repair each time. Dealership says MB very aware of the issue and all E320s will have this problem at some time or another. Poor Build quality!!

  • Whats Wrong with the 97 Mercedes 320? - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I enjoy my car on the highway but in the city, the gas mileage is terrible. The car is designed so that the heat only comes in from the sides and not from the front which makes it cold in the winter. The center dash contains the windows buttons and trunk buttons and will short out if you have spillage. The leather is not the best either. It is hard. In addition, the car is hard to drive since it is only power assisted. There is only a cassette in the car. The styling is beautiful. It looks very much like some of the newer cars. I purchased it used with 38 thousand miles.

I had my e320 for just over 5 months and I had to sell it. Car feels heavy on accelaration but performs fine after you reach about 40mph. Gas mileage is horrible especially if you live in LA (like myself). Interior are beutiful and elgant. I had a lot of electrical problem related to my CD and on board computer. Had to take the car in four times! I do not recommend this car.

A great car to drive if you enjoy driving! Power all around. At start, when passing in tight driving areas, and superb handling. All at a very reasonable miles per gallon. Average city and highway about 21 mls/gl. One of the best Mercedes I ever drove.
