Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • Beware of Mercedes Warranty - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I bought a new (2004) E320 Sedan with Appearance and Luxury packages. Its very stylish but has been in the shop way too often. The air conditioning (horrible smell) which Mercedes was reluctant to correct first time stunk. Mercedes - simply flushing the system does not work - it needs to be replaced. Worse was to follow - the Mercedes Dealership damaged my computer during yet another visit to the shop (brakes recall) and it was replaced with a used part. Yes, a USED PART on a new car. I called Mercedes USA and was referred me to my new car warranty which gives them the option to do just that - replace parts with used or reconditioned ones. How cheap can you get Mercedes?

  • Great performance in a beautiful package - 2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Have about 2000 miles on my 2008 E63 and have enjoyed every minute of it. Late 60s engine performance in a luxury sedan that is so quiet you sometimes wonder if the engine is running. Really like the styling. A sporty look while still retaining its MB historic look. More options than one has time to learn in one year. I am still reading the very hefty manual but every day controls are intuitive and easy to navigate without a manual. This is my first Mercedes and I waited for the 2008 model in Iridium Silver Metallic to pull the trigger. Everyone should own a car like this once in their lifetime. A perfect blend of sports car performance with the prowess of a well respected luxury sedan.

  • Awesome, but no improvement over previous - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Great car. Feels very solid and tank like as should any Mercedes. I should advise any interested buyers to highly consider the more expensive E500 wagon cause 221 hp isnt going to keep this two ton wagon up to speed with any Porsches. All in all a still excellent buy (not cheap though). My previous 2000 E320 wagon looked almost exactly the same even though there was a redesign last year. Very comfortable and relaxing to drive for long and quick trips. navigation system isnt that complicating, ride quality is amazing, and 4MATIC works great in foul weather. My rear window just randomly stopped functioning but other than that reliability has been decent. I timed a 0-60 run of about 8 seconds

Bought this car with 45000 miles on it. Absolute diesel rocket ship, amazing economy. Superb drive.

  • I love it! - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I love my E 350 Benz! Its not just a car, its an experience...every day! I look forward to the time I spend in it as it lends an escape to comfort. And when youre talking about performance...as far as Im concerned the "E" stands for excellence!

  • Wow... - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Along with the wonderful styling, the E500 is very powerful; the ride is so solid and satisfying. The breaks take getting used to, but after that you will like them. The only issue weve had is the trunk wont open sometimes, but other than that this car is a dream.

  • Too familiar with the service department - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Like others, we bought the car thinking wed keep it for a long time. After 6 years and many, many trips to the dealer we are saying bye to the Benz. Thankfully, the warranty covered replacement of the entire dashboard assembly, brakes, phone, hatch and various other electrical issues. Unfortunately, post-warranty I was stuck with the bill for the struts, rotors, hatch (again) and a new $100 key! Like others, its burning oil at a rapid pace. The car drives well, is very stable and eats up highway miles. Performance in the snow is fantastic - better than our Land Rover! Cargo/people hauling space is great.

  • Navigation and service - 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

False promises from sales and service. I always keep a $125.00 garmin gps with me, never wanna depend on MB nav system, Im scared it will take me into a deep ocean one day, entire car good but nav make it worst experience

  • Pristine condition, Luxury and Style - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Vehicle is a beautiful, metallic grey, in pristine condition. Absolutley beautiful and sporty at the same time. This is an eye catching vehicle. Interior looks brand new and an extremely comfortable ride with a strong climate control system or you can open the sunroof and windows and enjoy the breeze. Vehcile has a low 36,072 miles and drives straight as an arrow down the highway.

  • Oil leak, major repair - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I bought this car with 50,000 miles, and it looked showroom condition. In the last two years, I have had numerous maintenance costs, up to about 6000 and now it needs about 2 to 3000 to fix oil leak, and the catalytic converters need replaced, 1500 bucks more. Apparently everyone knows about the oil leak problem with these models. This was my first Mercedes, and last.
