Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • MB Makes Strategic Mistake with E Class - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I have been a loyal BM owner for the past 15 years. Aside from owning or leasing MBs we have also had our share of BMW, Audi & Porsche. Needless to say that we are suckers for German Engineering. During this time I can recall that we always had an E class in the household foe us to drive. We currently have a 2015 E350 coupe which we all absolutely love. Upon bringing our vehicle to get service at our local MB dealership we were provided with a 2017 E300 as a loaner for a couple of days. Wow! I do not know where to start. Let me start by saying that the previous generation E class was by far the best MB ever produced. In total we had 4 of these vehicles and never had an issue with any of them. They were still built like mini tanks. Unfortunately, my first impression of the new 2017 E is that it drives like a hybrid. It is a complete and utter travesty to put a 4 cyl engine into this car. Newsflash MB, the E class is not your entry level model. But it gets worse as the vehicle I was provided had only 2k miles on it and parts of the dash were not assembled correctly and still had clear glue residue on the wood and plastic areas. And yes, lots and lots of plastic. The dash and console are very flimsy and have way too much movement when applied minimal pressure. This will be an issue with rattles in the future. The gauges are facing outward instead of inward which posed a problem while driving. Overall, the dashboard does not flow at all. It is 2 gauges with a big screen in the center. Very original. Can say for the rest since I only had the car for a few days but I was sure happy to receive my car back. I am still scratching my head guys. Sure enough sales on this model will be severely impacted by the poor quality of materials, engine choice, and performance. Expect a redesign and engine modification in 2 years.

  • Solid German tank; wont let you down - 2002 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

What a great car. My first E-class, an E430, was totaled, and the same dealership got me into an E320 4Matic. Excellent ride; a joy to do some DIY work to, easy to work on and find OEM parts online, and a great community of owners at various sites, including benzworld dot org. Ive had Lexus and I just cant get over how much better the German ride is and how well Mercedes makes their vehicles. A completely different driving experience than even BMW and Audi, both brands I love as well. But for now, given the quality, fit and finish of these vehicles, Im glad to see Benz took a step in the right direction with the W212 chassis (2010- up) and Ill be buying a used W212 wagon next!

The e class has plenty of room for me and my kids, very fun to drive and very stylish. Comes in great colors, I love the new design it takes away from the stuffy boxy look that the previous cars had.

Ive had 3 Acuras & they have been very "Tight." No problems at all but my New 320E has been even better! There hasnt been ONE Problem in almost 4000 miles! Very quiet, great power and style. My gas mileage is better than my Acura, getting about 22 mph in the city & about 28 highway!

Overall, I love this car, beautiful looks (a real head turner), great peroformance, very sporty and stylish (I have the soprt pckg). Have had 2 mechanical problems (audio system, rear suspension/bladder) resulting in 8 days at the dealer, hope there are no more.

  • Great Design, Poorly Built - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

In twelve months of ownership, I have been to the dealer eleven times for fixes and repairs: replaced power seat motors; replaced remote keys (twice); reset of lock system so I could open my truck; replace driver door seal; etc.. I believe my car was built during Octoberfest. The dealer has been somewhat sympathetic, and MBUSA has been entirely arrogant. Next time a Lexus

  • Update on E320 CDI performance and quality - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Love the car when not having problems. Have had four major problems, most electronic, but think I have either a turbo going out or a "reprogramming of the transmission" - quoted from dealer service department. Still do not have their act together on quality. Problems with keyless go, steering wheel up and down feature. Have written Mercedes about quality issue, but have had no reply from them.

  • Bad wheel quality on MB E350 - 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

We bought one certified pre-owned 2009 E350 at MB Encino, California on 3/27/2010. Only drive about one month and 860 miles, there is a front tire pressure problem that was caused by a crack inside of the wheel (rim). We drive this new car very carefully, never hit anything since there is no damage on the outside wheel, also how to we hit or damage inside of the wheel? That is a parts quality problem. MBs warranty should cover it but they dont. Please think about MBs wheel quality, before you plan to purchase a MB, since we found couple cases report about it already. Also, MBs customer service is not friendly, do not answer customer phone call, and do not care customer concern.
