Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Get a good Pre-Purchase inspection - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By pjo - June 23 - 10:00 amExcellent gas mileage for a car this large (an honest 28mpg plus on the road). Good power, quiet, Only had one problem so far; a stuck relay kept the smog pump on after I shut off the engine which burned up the pump. A $1000 repair that wasnt necessary. Bad design here--- Overall i you get a good one, I think its an excellent second choice for a family. Its a better used buy then a C class. I wouldnt use it as a daily driver, though. Also, get a good, honest independent mechanic. These cars will send you to the poorhouse quick if youre not careful.

Whats missing from this car? Not much. - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Sam - June 20 - 4:33 pmApart from having a few too many options for being an MB, this car is otherwise perfect. 369 ft/lbs torque at 1800rpm... 0-60 in 6.6 (I timed it twice).. and passing power like the best sports cars Ive driven. All with 37mpg (observed by me). Built like a tank, safest sedan sold in the US (IIHS Study).. Mercedes Benz build quality and materials..

E430 Sport - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By eCLASSic - June 16 - 6:10 pmI was looking for a timeless vehicle and found a 01 Bril Sil eClassic Sport Edition with all options in superb condition. The drive train is solid and the interior cabin is virtually sound proof. The materials used throughout are of premium quality, unlike Ford. Acceleration is swift and sporty. Its a true gentlemans car and a dream to drive. Im very pleased.

Mostly Quite Pleased - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By sammyddc - June 15 - 4:28 pmI leased this car after a few great years with an E-Class Sedan. It was basically perfect and I had a lot of trepidation about switching to a less practical car. I love my new cabriolet! Its got great steering and handling, a wonderful turn radius and the trim level is terrific. Otherwise, I love putting the top down on any dry day.

Bluetecs the way to go - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By David Jacobs - June 11 - 10:36 pmMy 3rd Benz. 1990E class loved it.2000 S500,had trouble with it. Now this Eclass. So far great. I tend to go back and forth between Benz, BMW,and Lexus. I wanted good mileage, but more fun luxury and performance than a Prius, which I drove as well. I am dissapointed with the direction of the Lexus hybrids(poor mileage). It came down to the Lexus GS450h vs Benz E320 bluetec. Benz won this time around.

Engine gaskets are lowest quality! - 1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By uberthom - June 11 - 3:56 pmI bought this car because I thought the 95 gave Mercedes 10 years to perfect the 300E. I was wrong. At 65,000 miles the engine gaskets are made of the worst quality materials and I have more than a few engine leaks. This is unacceptable. I am now facing a $1,200 expense to replace the head gasket and the replacement part is made of the same inferior material. This is the reason Mercedes has PLUMMETED in customer satisfaction. I plan to buy a LEXUS and I hope Mercedes goes out of business. They cannot even provide their customers with the $10 in materials it would take to solve this problem. They had to choose the $2 materials instead.Disgraceful and shameful!

Simply the best ! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By BW - June 11 - 4:40 amIt is amazing how mercedes has coupled the durability and mileage of a diesel platform into a quiet, high performance engine. The Audi, Acura, BMW are all nice but are no match for this vehicle.

Solid, Well Built German Cruiser - 1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By y2kimmel - June 10 - 3:23 pmI have owned my E420 for 1.5 years now, and love it. I previously owned 2 BMWs, and consider the build quality of the Mercedes to be superior. No squeaks or rattles on a 10 years old car! The engine is turbine-smooth, the suspension is silky, and fuel economy is better than many V6s. This is a car that I could see myself driving for another 100,000 miles.
