Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Dont buy early production cars - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By David F - January 31 - 10:00 amMy last car was a BMW 5 series. After seeing pictures of the new 5, I decided to get the E class. The handling is better than I expected but still not as good as the bimmer. I did get an early production car that was full of little nagging problem, squeaks, radio that stops working intermittenly, heated steering wheel that only works a few minutes. Finally the Navi that was supposed to be retrofitted in March could not be done at all. A blessing in disguise because I did get a *new* replacement car with the Command system. The new car with the exception of misaligned Xenon lights has been much, much better than the old car.

A Solid Triple - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By aaflank - January 26 - 1:43 amVery smooth, solid, comfortable and quiet (almost eerie-quiet with audio system on). Previous car was a BMW 545i and its better in almost all respects. Particularly surprised at how quick it is and how well it handles in sport mode; would really give my 545 a run for its money. Also like the feel of the power steering better; much more variable; does not feel as "heavy" as BMW steering at low speeds. My car has just about every option except driver assist. Only major disappointment is the Night Vision system. The infrared camera is really just a grainy B&W camera; theres nothing infrared about it. My eyeball detects deer and animals much better than it does; almost distracting.

What a buy - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By au1114 - January 14 - 1:06 pmThis car is the best highway cruiser I ever had. After 53 cars, itÂ’s smooth and except for tire noise it is very quiet. The tire noise will be fixed with non high energy tires. My mpg is 30. The suspension is controlled but stable and conforming without being hard or soft.

Comfort and Fun - 2002 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By MojoIojo - January 11 - 10:00 amThe exterior is a work of art. Although the 2003 is redesigned, I still think my model looks great due to Mercs styling concept. The interior is conservative and sufficiently comfortable, which is what I expect for such an automobile, but I find every gadget useful and logically in place. However, the cupholders could be better. The ride and acceleration is smooth and quick, and the handling is good for such a heavy and relatively heavy car. Although the Lexus LS430 may be less expensive, it doesnt seem to have a unique character. The styling appears to mimic that of the E- series. In addition, it looks bland.

Worth the money, worth working for - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By annasdad - January 9 - 7:46 pmMy family loves this car. We drive 700 miles a day when we travel, which is frequently, and we never feel tired afterwards. We are all the way up to 137K miles now and really it feels as solid as it did at 40K. The fuel mileage is amazing. We get 29 mpg on the road and average 26. Everybody looks at it admiringly, even though now it is 7 years old. We have had to make some repairs, but if you shop around and find a reasonable mechanic it really isnt much more expensive than other cars.

Great car - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Fred - January 7 - 1:33 pmI have had this car almost two years, bought it MB certified but have had zero problems with it. Driven on on trips, heavy traffic, everything and the car handles it all. Was even great in the snow last winter. Highly recommended.

E320 sedan loving it - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By cintol - January 5 - 6:20 amMy wife calls this car her rocket when she touches the throttle it is gone. Excellent mpg 21 in the city, moon roof opens with touch of button but you have to hold the button for it to close. In order to fix the pixels for time and temp dealer says need to replace whole instrument cluster $800 overall we will never buy anything else but Mercedes from now on.

HIgh Mileage Review - Buyer Beware - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Paul L. - January 3 - 11:00 pmIm starting the seventh year of ownership of my E-class. So far Ive replaced: Front passenger seat belt buckle Both catalytic converters Front wheel bushings Instrument panel Rear Shocks Steering wheel switches Three audio speakers Both sun visors Car has 210K miles, I feel too much has gone wrong with the car for it being a MB. I also have an undiagnosed mystery noise in the back seat. Front end vibrates at high speed.

If You Can Love A Car-----I DO ! - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Ralph - January 1 - 12:03 am...This car has no flaws. It is without a doubt the finest car Ive ever driven. I have driven Cadillacs for many years; now that Ive experienced my 2010 E550 I will never own any other car! All the 10s I gave the car ratings are for real. I can not think of anything I would change about the entire car. Driving has become a true pleasure, rather than a means of transportation from point A to point B. If you even think of owning a Mercedes, you owe yourself the courtesy of a test drive! Mine is black W/black leather--what an elegant combination! The aesthetics of this vehicle are endless. Try one and I bet there will be one more Mercedes on the road! Fuel mileage=18/24.

Love my 2013 Mercedes E350 - 2013 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Ray Edge - December 31 - 7:50 amThis is an excellent car. The build and fit are meticulous. The ride, steering and response are top notch. The navigation system is the only criticism I have. It is not touch screen, it will not search for locations by category and the rear view camera does not have guide lines. However, Mercedess MBrace concierge service, for an annual fee, is a great service. In addition, Mercedes does not have the capability of upgrading the camera software to add the guide lines or to improve the nav system.
