Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Not a lot to complain about - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By JCaron - March 1 - 2:00 amThis car is comfortable as you would expect from a sedan but it also has a sporty feel. I highly recommend to the Distronics option. The three ashtrays are a waste of space which could have been put to better use for decent cupholders. The phone system is also a waste since it requires you to use their overpriced phone. The transmission is flawless.

E500 - An Excellent Car - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By MyMercedes - March 1 - 2:00 amThe cars exterior and interior design is pleasant to the eyes and it has that luxury and elegant touch to it. I find that the performance is quite good with acceleration and stopping. The car is fun to drive and I feel very safe driving it. I love the new electronic braking system, it saved me a couple of times when I made sudden braking to avoid hitting the car in front of me.

6th Mercedes - Very Impressed - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By jmmushkin - February 26 - 5:57 amThis is my 6th Benz since 88, and my 4th convertible. It is a major step up from the 2 CLKs I owned (03 and 05), and it is, naturally, much more car than the 07 SLK I traded in for this one. The quality of all the interior materials and finishes is excellent, the top works smoothly and quickly, and when closed it rides extremely quietly for a soft-top. The navigation system is vastly improved over the horrible SLK system I endured for 3+ years (which was an insult at over $2K), and, surprise!, the Germans have figured out cup-holders finally! But seriously, it is a solid, extremely well built car.

11 year old E320 Avantguarde - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By crclark - February 25 - 8:31 amI purchased this car from a dealer that had it sitting for 4 years. It had a few minor problems that I have repaired myself. This car is the family favorite by far, its very fun to drive. We just took a 2000 mile round trip at 75-80 MPH and got 30 MPG !!!. I have never ridden or driven a vehicle that rides or handles like this car. My wife LOVES this car. The problems weve had are minor and easily repaired by myself and the prices for parts are not any different than my Ford diesel truck or my Jeep. Just shop around, google is your friend.

E55 - The "Q" Car - 2002 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By bootknf - February 23 - 10:00 amLove the power and few know what you are really driving. Needs more leg room for really long drives for those of us over six feet tall (your right foot will cramp). Handling is great, love those "g" forces in a rock solid corner at high speed. It was the first delivered in the SE and I have put 10K miles on it this last year.

2001 E320 Sedan - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Teresa - February 22 - 10:03 amThis is worst car I have ever owned. Every time I turn around something is wrong either with the electrical system, a/c, engine overheating or the windows wont go up. Oh and of course the cylinders keep going out. The check engine came on once again today two out of six cylinders are not working. I need another full time job to keep the car on the road. Not mention the $50+ oil changes. I wish I had my Infiniti I30 back. It never left me on the side of the road!

mercedes reliabilty - 1996 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By richard snyder - February 19 - 10:00 amwhen we purchased this vehicle in nov of 96 we were so happy. then we found out it had a german smaller gas tank. the dealership replaced it tthe proper size tank. then we started to have a series of reliabilty problems, such as the following: glow plugs not working (8 times),care stalling while in motion (10 times), 3 blower motors, 2 control modules replaced, order pump for ww wipers.if you wish i can you copies of the work orders. It just to much effort to wrie here. MB did extend the warranty to 75,000 miles and the were good in providing a loaner car with no cost to me. The problems have with this car up to this writing. richard snyder

Who Da Mn - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Paul Pelc - February 18 - 8:53 pmThis is just an all around Precision Machine. Ungodly speed and handling! The Vette or Carrera or just about anything that pulls up next to you will end up in your rearview mirror. It doesnt matter if you are starting from a stop or already going 80, hit it and it will plant your head and take off like a bullet. The first time you head up a 40mph ramp merging into the highway doing 137mph you realize how AMG is - vs standard. The only regret is that the Autoban is not a local road!
