Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • The ultimate car for a road trip. - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Wonderful car for the intended purpose; very happy with the purchase. A most relaxing ride; very comfortable & supportive seats and least amount of road noise I have experienced in a car. Have the premium 2 and sports package. Got 46mpg with cruise control going 71mph on a road trip; around town average ~30. Get well over 500 miles per tank of diesel. Stereo system overall is fantastic, navigation system is a much needed improvement over previous generation and is very good. Engineering is what is expected; best in class trunk size when trunk closes engineered to not pinch the luggage! All season floor mats a must for us; cost extra but are great. Bluetooth works fine & easy to set up.

  • Replace Fuel Pump After 7 Years!! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Smelled gas inside vehicle after filling up, engine light came on, and the smell was extremely overwhelming with gas fumes. I had to roll all windows and sunroof down in 20 degrees weather. Contacted Mercedes Benz Atlanta on Piedmont (all records on file with up keep of vehicle maintenance) to advise. Took car for repaired and I am stuck with a $1400 repair bill. I was told by my service advisor that in 7 years the fuel pump goes out and has to be replaced? REALLY MERCEDES? This is a manufacture defect and the consumer should not be held accountable for something this major. So much for high end top of the line. This is certainly a defect. I want my check Mercedes! You should be a shame!

  • Mercedes Refinement and American Muscle - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

There is not much I can say that has not been already said about this car. Recap: Blistering acceleration (stock 12.5 quarter mile), Long distance highway comfort, and good looks for a sedan. The main draw for alot of people about this car is the ability to modify it north of 550 HP. Its easily done with a few add ons and a tune. It truly exemplifies class with muscle. I had mine at the quarter mile track and people were checking it out hard in disbelief that a sedan could haul like that. With the massive depreciation that Mercedes experience, you cant go wrong getting a used one and purchase an extended warranty. Its just the cost of doing business. ENJOY!

  • Nice but could use some refinements - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

We picked up this little jewel in June and, to date, have already clocked on 10K. The wife complains about getting in and out of the vehicle but I think it is just right. The car corners and brakes excellent but somewhat sluggish in Comfort Drive or whatever you call it. Should of opted to the V8 version. The interior is well designed and easy to maintain. The body style and appeal is a killer, a real head turner on the road. We are surprised with the lack of road noise especially being a convertible. Great sound system.

  • Buy the car, forget the GPS - 2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Great car. Comfortable smooth, sports car handling, excellent craftsmanship incredible power. Not as quiet as the gas engine but very quiet for a diesel. You have to listen to hear it. I average 25mpg, as much as 38 mpg on the road. However the GPS stinks. Its the worst. Difficult to use and I dont need to find "border crossings" in the USA. Just buy a Garmin, a 100 times better. Problems: transmission tends to clunk into lower gear as you slow down. Had a 2005 Benz with the same problem. Price of diesel a negative. Hate the center console, holds nothing. Service very expense. I would however, buy this car again.

  • German Muscle - 1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Amazing car. Gifted with a elegant yet aggressive V8 engine, this highway warrior floats down the road with ease. With proper car and maintence this car runs forever and is built like a tank. The styling is some what conservative but the interior and trunk are large, as with every merecedes. Ive driven this car primary for highway travel were this flashy V8 amazingly exhibits better gas mileage than my V6 300E! Its a breeze through traffic and BLAST on the open road. Looking for some muscle but need to be comfortable driving with bussiness attire... this is your car.

  • Exhilarating Disapointment - 1998 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I was thrilled to get this wagon for our retirement vehicle. It had apprx one year left on the warranty; good thing! Rear load leveling shocks started leaking oil. Driver seat heater gave out. After warr. up, air flow sensor for engine gave out. Turn signal collar started rotating with lever. Leak developed in hose to rear load-level shocks, cost $354 to cut & reconnect hose.

  • Needs better appointments - 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Since this is the last year of the w211 body style, Mercedes is offering decent subsidizes incentives to move vehicles. The body is pretty much the same since 03 with a few modified faclifts. The No charge sport package adds some flair to the pretty stagnent body. The gipe I have with Mercedes is the lack of standard leather interior on car that starts at almost 52k. Vinyl belong in economy cars, Not in a Mercedes Benz!.

  • A good car that should have been great. - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

It is an expensive car. It is technologically far more complicated than it should have been. Simple maintenance is very expensive. The warrantee should be longer with maintenance included. The electronics are badly designed. The NAVI system is incredible complicated. I will often use my smart phone instead when needing an address. I wrote the new young president of my concern. As yet no response. I guess they are tied up with the new stadium.

  • Rust - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Have taken great care of this car. Only has 120,000 miles and the body is starting to rust really bad. This car has been washed and not in Michigan winters but for only about 5 years. I have been told that this happens allot because of the poor quality of the steel they used in 1999. Is anyone else having some of the same problems. What is Mercedes doing to help repair these cars rust problems.
