This Year's Model Updates:

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class receives numerous styling changes, including a streamlined front end. There are also interior tweaks, a new suite of safety technologies and an auto stop-start system. On the diesel front, the four-cylinder E250 Bluetec sedan replaces last year's V6-powered E350 Bluetec. Finally, a more powerful E63 AMG now features standard all-wheel drive and an available S-Model package with more power still.

Pros:
  • Strong V8 engines
  • Smooth and efficient four-cylinder diesel
  • Superb ride
  • Extensive safety features.
  • Wide variety of body styles
Cons:
  • Less involving to drive than many rivals despite potent engine lineup.

  • Opinion not changed on MB reputation - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Finally traded the E350 in on a 2016 C class sedan 4 matic. Better built more comfortable than the E 350. Car still exhibits a lot of road noise which I think is caused by the run flat tires. It doesnt seem like Mercedes is making quiet vehicles like they used to. This is a follow up review to my previous E350 review. I just took the car on a short trip to Sedona Arizona and I have to say that the road noise in the cabin was considerable. Over moderately coarse pavement the tires roared so much it gave me a headache. I am very disappointed in the amount of road noise that exists in $60,000 automobile with only 7,500 miles on it. I dont think Mercedes Benz products are what they used to be. Buyer beware. Opinion not changed. Road noise is still excessive. The front seats are uncomfortable. More rattles have developed. The front bumper and the attached chrome wing at the bottom are very susceptible to rock chips. Also, the interior high gloss black ash wood trim may as well be plastic it is so full of scratches and swirls and I am extremely carefull to wipe fingerprints off with a very soft cloth. I cant wait to get rid of this vehicle; however, E350s have not held their value and I am considerably underwater. Again, buyer beware!

I test drove one of these and wasnt very impressed. The engine under load sounds like an overstressed rental car. If you dont need the space, the BMW 3-series diesel is a much better car for less money. Or take a look at the A6 TDI.

  • My 2014 E350 Sedan Sport not a quality machine - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Car in shop too many times for too many issues in first month of ownership. Long time loyalty to brand to the tune of 1 new MB a year for several years. Asked them to buy car back before the issues grow. Two systems they still cannot fix - 360 camera and Sirius radio. They told me they are happy to honor the warranty but will not take car back. So much for loyalty. MBUSA customer service is under trained and incapable of client retention. 3000 miles on car in shop two times for two weeks with the service area working on items and not able to fully repair. MBUSA aware of factory 360 camera issue, Sirius - no clue. 30% chance that something will not work when driven.

  • Much improvement is needed - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The front standard seats are miserably hard and un-conforming, plus being too low at any setting. Road noise isolation is also poor and worse than the Toyota cars I rent on flying trip destinations. The engine emits rude noises on initial cold start up, a problem which is euphemistically referred to in the owners manual as "a different sound." Pluses include a smooth and effective engine stop-start system at stoplights, ample power, excellent initial reliability, and good body finish and fit. Overall, I would rather have the new Kia K900 as it offers me more luxury and features for the same or less amount of money.

  • Beware Mercedes doesnt have parts for this car - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I purchased my brand new 2014 e350 in May 2013. Unfortunately someone rear ended it two weeks later. It has been over 2 months and Mercedes is unable to replace the rear bumper on my car. They cannot give me an answer to when they will have the part. I did not expect this from Mercedes. Beware people before you buy Mercedes. Are they going bankrupt?

  • Value tanked - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Bought my E 350 new in July 2014. The car stickered at $61,250. Went to trade it in on another MB product in September 2015 and the dealership would only give me $37,500! Car was in perfect condition with only 8,000 miles. I would call this terrible depreciation. If you buy a new MB plan on keeping it for a LONG time.
