Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Engineered like no other car... - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By vinsonphd - December 27 - 10:00 amIve enjoyed my E430 from day one. I purchased it in Washington then drove to California later that year. I also drove it from Los Angeles to North Carolina and it was such a fun drive. I drove alone yet felt just as safe in the deserts of New Mexico as I did right here at home in Los Angeles. The car is very fun to drive and really is a superb automobile.

Monster of a car but well balanced - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By oldstocks - December 25 - 7:33 pmI bought a used E550 and it is the best car I have ever had - balanced, powerful, smooth, ergonomic, roomy .... love that V8 and cannot ever go back! I have had 3 Mercedes, a Volvo, a BMW (M3), Saab, and several Fords. I have also driven my parents 4 Mercedes. The E550 tops all of them combined. It has 382 horsepower but I get 28 mpg on the highway (25 if I goose it). It looks sedate but keeps up with unwary Porsche and Corvette drivers. Fantastically smooth driver on the interstate with fantastic response for passing. Right now, I am shopping for an convertible (for fun) but cannot find anything as great as my current E550. Maybe an SL550?

this sucks - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By j4you - December 24 - 10:00 amthe car is beatiful inside and out, however being at the dealership over 10 times in the last year has soured my affection for m-bs in general. the dealership/ service department is nice enough, but thats not why i purchase my car. too many problems for a car that cost over 62,000. previous car was a bmw 330ci, in the three period i took the car in 3 times. too much money for such low quality workmanship.

Back on top - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Charles Lincoln - December 24 - 3:00 amThis is a stellar automobile. It is just short of perfect, but then, nothing is. It has looks and power, comfort and safety. Biggest complaint: Improve the cupholders so that the driver can see and reach his readily. Keyless Go, Parkatron and GPS should be standard equipment.

Mercedes E 350 - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Jim Ford - December 21 - 9:23 amThe car is a joy to drive with great performance but has proven to be a little touchy with some smaller issues. We have had problems with seat belt sensors going off even when the belt is fastened. The check oil level light comes on (twice in spite of service) when the oil is fine. The air conditioning is very noisy and the dealer says that is the way it is. Engine performance and fuel economy is terrrific. At times the transmission does not shift smoothly.

a lifesaver - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By 07boxster2 - December 20 - 2:23 pmBought this brand new. Within 6 mo. Had the steering rack replaced and several other minor problems. Radio is possessed and theyve never been able to fix it. Car has only 48,000 miles after 6 years and a number of expensive nuisance repairs have had to be made. Shouldnt happen for the price and marque. Its a beautiful car: rides and drives wonderfully. Has also been a lifesaver for me......... Was taken out by a western star dump truck on the highway and only needed two doors replaced. Shes a keeper ..... For now.

Built like a tank, fast as a jet - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By jerrya - December 17 - 11:00 pmThis is my first Mercedes, having been a BMW driver all my life. After the styling misdirection with BMW I looked for an alternative. What a find! I love this car! It is comfortable for every day driving and when you want it.....it flies! Its hard to describe unless you actually have the opportunity to put your foot into it. I realize it is expensive but the thrill and the beauty of the car is worth the price of admission. The difference between this car and a BMW 545 sport in lease payment was less than $250 per month. It is the best $250 per month I have ever spent. The steering feel is not quite up to BMW standards but EVERYTHING else is head and shoulders above it.

The perfect blend of sport and luxury - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Wis Ed - December 15 - 3:10 amDriven in comfort mode, regardless of speed, this car is a paragon of luxury: amazing seats, comfortable ride, near total silence. Flick the dynamic switch to sport plus and you get a fire breathing, curve slicing rocket that is as fast and swift handling as any road car has a right to be, the near silence replaced by an excellent engine tune that is loud enough not to be annoying! The car simply seems to hover over the pavement regardless how abruptly or hard its driven. There is no squat, nose dive or lean. The engine is powerful and responsive at any speed, the transmission seems to divine the right gear for seamless, effortless thrust! Fuel economy is very good for the level of performance, I have been achieving exactly the EPA estimates. The interior is simply superb, excellent materials and fit and finish. After you drive a car with dynamic seat bolsters everything seems a little less special. Even the rear seats are a very nice place to be. The command system is a huge improvement over the previous version of the system and works amazingly with the dual screen dash which offers HD level graphics. The additional AMG modes for both the screens and the heads up display add another layer of wow factor. The standard Burmester audio is excellent and fully appreciated given the almost anechoic chamber level quietness that the quiet comfort package provides. Definitely a home run from Mercedes Benz-AMG.

Good Car, many problems - 1998 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By kermit780 - December 15 - 2:00 amWe have owned our E300TD for almost five years now. It is overall a good car, but there were so many problems that were unnecessary. At 9,000 the cupholder lid would not stay up and had to be replaced. To this day even the replacement does not work. We have had this vehicle serviced eight times for glowplug related issues, usually them failing. The sunroof stopped operating, the rear window came off track. There are other issues, but not enough time or space. The interior has no perks or electronic gadgets. When you pay that much for a car is a CD player too much to ask for, without paying $800 for the factory CD changer.

A great alternative to a SUV - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By CMatos - December 15 - 2:00 amWe recently added twins to the family. Something reasonably comfortable and efficient was called for. Minivans were absolutely out of the question and SUVs, well, they dont handle all that well after all, do they? The E320 Estate seemed the perfect solution. We havent been let down.
