New hatchback and wagon body styles are scheduled as midyear additions. Minor adjustments to the 6's optional equipment packages are the only other changes for 2004.

• More fun to drive than most family sedans, slick shifting manual transmission, smooth power delivery, nicely appointed interior, multiple body styles.

  Bought this car used with 20,000 mi. LOVED this car, how it drove how it looked, the amount of room. But after about a year every few months we had to replace something: the clutch, the shocks, tires (2x), and air box system. Finally the engine in the car blew due to a cracked seal that caused the oil to leak dry(the oil was changed every 3000 mi). the carpeting is coming off in the cabin area and the drivers side speaker goes in and out. So we are getting rid of the car (after taking a huge hit on the loan) and never buying another mazda.

  Love, love, love this car! This has been an amazing car! Drives and handles like a sports car. I have never had any major, or minor, problems with it. Part of the LCD display for the air vent was out when I bought it. I have the 4-cylinder manual and consistently get 32 MPG! This car handles well in all weather and elevations. Love the brakes and tight steering. Very responsive and smooth on the highway. I get lots of complements on the car and everyone that drives it loves it as well. I will be getting another Mazda when I finally have to part with this one.

  This car is great. There were some problem when we first got it, it had to go back to the dealer 3 times due to computer problems. It was all under warranty and rental fees were covered by the dealer. Its a great car, very sporty. Get the V6 if you can, the added power is worth it. The interior build quality is great, there arent a lot of hard plastics, it feels more expensive than it is with the leather wrapped steering wheel, and shift knob. Manumatic is a fun manual override without a clutch for the auto enthusiast; it significantly give the car more of a boost off the line, and when driving.

  Ive had my car for a few years now and can say that Im very satisfied, I get so many comments on the car cause it looks like something that would cost a lot more then it actually dose. I get great gas mileage I get about 28.5 mpg. The car handles like a go kart, and has the looks to back it up.

  Going on second 100,000 - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

  Bought new in 04, traded in a Passat which was nice but had electrical problems. The "6" has been one of my favorite cars of my 30 plus years of driving. It is the only car i have actually kept for 100,000 miles and I plan to keep it another 100,000. I have done one spark plug replacement, one battery, new front brakes including calipers (ouch) about to put on the third set of tires Yokohama Avid 4vs got 55,000 miles better and cheaper than stock Michelins, and regular fluid changes. Leather still looks good, paint is great. Just had the radiator flushed and while at the dealer sat in a new 09--nice car a little bigger all the way around but it doesnt have the handy two stage console. Picky

  I have had the car for 4 years now and can say its been a pleasure. I get about 27 mpg, car has not had a single problem also has plenty of room and power. The trunk on this car is HUGE!!

  VERY NICE CAR. THE SIX IS FAST AS GREASE LIGHTENING. THEY KEEP SAYING THE POWER IS NOT THE SAME AS OTHER IN ITS CLASS, WELL THE V 6 GETS UP AND GOES. ITS FAST. THE CAR IS A HEAD TURNER AND VERY NICE/FUN TO DRIVE. CANT GO WRONG FOR LESS THAN $25,000.

  One of the best car out there for the money! Have the Onyx Black. Very beautiful color. The 5-speed shifter is nice and smooth. Love the styling of both the interior and exterior. Even had an infiniti g35 sedan on order, but choose this because it had almost everything I wanted for $10000 less! Also considered Accord and Altima but this won me over. Extremely fun to drive.

  So far I have 4000+ miles driven on this car. I have an automatic. Very fun car to drive. The handling is great. A little slow off the line, but it really moves on the highway. Great passing power. Very sharp looking car. Has very nice brakes. Best in its class. Nice bang for the bucks! If you dont want a Honda or a Toyota, this will be a nice alternative.
