New hatchback and wagon body styles are scheduled as midyear additions. Minor adjustments to the 6's optional equipment packages are the only other changes for 2004.

• More fun to drive than most family sedans, slick shifting manual transmission, smooth power delivery, nicely appointed interior, multiple body styles.

  I really enjoy this car. I have only one complaint and that is regarding the car stereo. Mazda made it nearly impossible to replace the radio with an aftermarket model. Or at least have the option to install an Aux input module for my MP3 player. Otherwise I love this car.

  We have had our 6s for 6 months without any problems. We had a VW Passat prior to the 6 and had countless problems with it. We love the sportiness of the drive and the high feature content in the interior. It was a great value compared with other vehicles with the same option list.

  Seats are very comfortable. Many different driving positions with tilt/telescoping steering column. Handling and braking are superb yet 17" rims compromise smooth city rides. Automatic tranee shifts flawlessly except at times of extremely rough accleration and braking. Braking in ALL weather conditions is extremely comforting with the ABS brakes. Radio and climate controls take ALOT of getting used to and have yet to become second nature even after two months. Storage is plentiful for maps, bottled water and coffee. Sharp car but needs tweeking here and there; MANY options that are only seen on more high end, costlier cars.....

  I purchased my Mazda6i brand new with 55 miles on it. It currently has 97,000 miles on it. I chose the 2.3L 4cyl and I have had zero trouble with it. It handles like a dream and its a lot of fun!! I bought the sport package with moonroof/bose/17" wheels etc. Its been a great car and its paid for!! I will never get rid of this car and its absolutely wonderful to drive. I feel the same way I did when I bought it brand new. Confident and classy.

  Bought a 6 wagon with 5M and havent regretted a thing. Bose system is awesome, handling sporty, enough room for the kids. Took the family on a trip to DC and had a great ride there and back. Hit some bad thunderstorms, but the Michelins held the road like we were on rails. This car really is a family vehicle that handles like a sports car, has the room of a small SUV and 25-27 mpg on the hwy. All I wanted and more!

  The car is a head-turner. Black with the optional clear taillights, brushed aluminum gas door and the 17 inch wheels really set the car off. The car has most options including the moon roof, Bose stereo (nice!), security system, ABS/Traction control etc.... I do have the automatic transmission which is a little sluggish, or non- existent, on the downshift from second to first when slowing down. This takes some getting used to especially if you need to accelerate if you were coasting at 8-10mph. Otherwise the car handles well, rides smoothly and is a blast to drive. The interior is wll laid out and the fit is very clean.

  After doing alot of research for the ideal wagon, I found the Mazda6 sport wagon to be the perfect vehicle for me and my 8 year old twins. This car rides like a Cadillac, handles beautifully, is very comfortable and roomy. The radio controls are an added convience feature that I love, not having to look at my dash to adjust the volume or stations. There is plenty of leg room in the passanger side and back seats. The illuminated dash is easy to see. I love the privacy cover in the hatch. There is plenty of storage room, and the cargo holders are great for organization. It rides quietly and handles solidly. I am nothing but pleased with this vehicle.

  At 3,400 miles the car was struck in the rear on a highway and sent head on into a concrete barrier at near full highway speed. Every crumple point gave and passenger compartment stayed intact. Front was gone and part of the driver rear panel was embedded in the hood of the car that hit me. Was worth every star in its 5 star rating. Super built car for safety. Going to get another.

  My ultimate dreamcar is a BMW. What can beat the handling and performance? Almost nothing,but my Mazda comes close. Having to downsize was a pity, but I wouldnt trade my mazda 6 for anything.
