  • Not bad for the price - 2008 Mazda CX-7

Tires are shot at 24K. Car driven by a little old granny in town and have had a number of long highway trips and am guessing highway mileage is close to 13k of the 24K. Plenty quick. Bought entirely on looks and cheap 2 year lease.

Got this car for my wife, we looked at all the usual suspects and Im so glad that she preferred the CX-7 in the Grand Touring AWD package. This car is a revelation in the price bracket; it is the better value X5. Being an ex racer and a Manager of a Ferrari and Maserati dealer I get to drive some nice cars, but this car is really good, with a few short comings, but they are insignificant to the positives.

  • Originally, I Had Second Thoughts - 2008 Mazda CX-7

When I test drove the CX-7 Sport, I liked the car; however, after I purchased it and drove it for a longer period of time, I was not please with the rough ride. I was having second thoughts about this vehicle. Now, after owning the SUV for a month, Im loving this SUV. I originally started out to purchase the Nissan Maxima until I saw this vehicle on the highway. Its roomy, the handling and braking is great, and I have gotten use to the ride.

This car has horrible paint. As someone else stated paint seems to have flaws. I live in Michigan this car is horrible in even 1 inch of snow ! The tires are very cheap. Need new tires at 12k. I havent experienced the a/c problems others reported is the only positive. The gas mileage is also horrible. The biggest annoyance is the road noise. Cant talk on phone when on the highway without turning cell phone vol. way up !! There also is no room for an infant carseat. I have to move my seat forward to put my baby in or out when using my carseat base. I wish my lease was up last year! Dont buy this car.

Great bang for the buck.... looks like an SUV, but rides like a car. Runs smooth, with great turbo. Love the car! Its a great buy!

  • Big Disapointment - 2008 Mazda CX-7

I thought driving a Mazda would be wonderful. I love forgeign cars as they last forever!! I couldnt be more wrong. Bought the car with 16k miles and at 70k miles, the engine blows. First was thought the timing chain broke, but wasnt. Mazda will NOT stand by their product. They have a crappy warrenty for a reason. Their cars are CRAP!! I checked out more cars like mine, there IS a bad problem with the engines!!! There is NO reason for a maintained car to have such issues at low miles. I had a VW with 144k miles, 10 years old and never once gave me problems. SHAME ON YOU MAZDA!! Build a better car or fix it. Check reviews and engine problems on the 07 & 08 CX-7s!! U have been WARNED!!!!

I have had this amazing SUV for about a month and could not be more impressed. I cant believe I ended up with Mazda. I looked at BMW X3, Audi Q7, VW Toureg, and the Nissan Pathfinder. After driving all of these I could not believe how close the BMW and the Mazda were. So, I bought the Mazda and saved some money. I couldnt be happier and I have not had this much fun driving anything in the last 15 years!

  • Love my baby!! - 2008 Mazda CX-7

I purchased a 2008 CX7 in Oct 2012. 3 days after purchasing it I too had white smoke coming from the exhaust. I returned it to the dealership and they fixed it with no questions asked. Other than that, like everyone else, the gas consumption is a little low but it also depends on how you drive. If your always driving like a bat out of hell then of course your gas consumption will be less than someone takes their time or goes a slow, steady speed. The interion is comfortable (sometimes I feel like Im in a cockpit in a spaceship lol). The back is very roomy and everyone says they love it back there. This is my first SUV so I ma love, love, loving sitting higher. Great purchase so far.

  • Great Crossover for the Money - 2008 Mazda CX-7

Leased this 2008 CX7 after looking at Chevy Equinox, Ford Edge and Murano. Mazda offered best value for the money. 2008 edition can take regular unleaded which is what we use however the performance and turbo really needs premium gas. At $4 plus a gallon, we will use regular unleaded and loose some performance. Moonroof and Bose stereo with power seats is terrific. A fun car to drive. Im not tall but I wish the headroom was a little higher. Sometimes feel a little tight with near the sun visors.

  • Dont Bother! - 2008 Mazda CX-7

Terrible in winter conditions; poor visibility; safety belt signals 30x for front passenger if you so much as have a briefcase on the seat; really dim driving lights (I have to use my high beams as much as possible).
