The Jeep Liberty gets stability control as standard equipment on all models for 2006. The four-cylinder gas engine has been dropped, however, due to a lack of consumer interest.
- Extremely capable off-road, economical diesel engine option, creative interior design.
- V6 is rather thirsty at the pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

My Jeep is a SUV, your SUV is not a Jeep - 2006 Jeep Liberty
By TechRamblings - September 16 - 4:50 amAside from a small reprogramming problem related to a switch of tires (which the dealership fixed the same day I got the vehicle), this is one incredible vehicle! Much better than my previous 2003 Jeep Liberty Limited. In less than 1 week of ownership Ive already pulled two cars out of ditches and pushed another one free. Off road it performs like a total champ (dont forget to turn off the ESP!).

I love my Liberty! - 2006 Jeep Liberty

Besides from the fact that in about the 3rd week somebody tried to steal it but luckily it had that engine immobilizer on it; otherwise they would have been successful. It handles great, can go anywhere (Ive taken it places that many people would never take their vehicles and its handled perfectly), lots of power. I love the interior also. All around great truck.

By Logan - April 15 - 11:00 pmWell, its finally mine. My 2006 Jeep Liberty. Its not the most comfortable car, nor the most powerful, but it defines me. Its definitely, a "mans car" or, at least mine feels like it. And I love it! Though, my friends are mad because they all have stupid economical imports. But in all seriousness, the Liberty is my top pick. Its the best small SUV out there. The looks, inside and out, are just great, and my girlfriend says it matches my eyes? Hah, "Jeep green" and a lot of my tall friends can fit in perfectly. Who cares about gas when you make everyone who carpools with you pay for it? :) Haha, I love my Jeep, and its worth every penny!

Still in love - 2006 Jeep Liberty
By rachmox - March 2 - 10:15 pmI bought my Liberty in Feb 07 with 54 miles on her. Shes now at 162K miles, and Ive only had to replace a rear control arm and the right rear passenger side window motor up until recently. The left rear window just crapped out a couple of months ago, and Im about to replace my water pump and fix a leak in the evap system, but after 6.5 yrs, I cant complain. Shes been the most reliable vehicle I ever owned. Took a hit from a light rail train that clipped my drivers side sideview mirror. It didnt even take the arm off, only the mirror itself popped out! A freaking train! I was in an accident in Dec and begged my insurance not to total her. So yeah, I love my Liberty.

recall the window regulators - 2006 Jeep Liberty
By Laura - January 7 - 2:26 amBought my jeep and love it. I get awesome mileage. The only complaints I have are the windows oh and the cd player broke about a month after I bought it. Well I had to replace one of the passenger window regulators already and after reading all these consumer reviews I seriously dont want to deal with another regulator going out. Id rather spend my day off from work and school having fun instead of waiting for my jeeps windows to be repaired. There should definitely be a recall. Soon!!!

In love with my Jeep Liberty! - 2006 Jeep Liberty
By Katie - January 2 - 8:33 pmI love the 2006 Jeep Liberty! I went from a 1999 VW Bug into the Jeep and was nervous about the differences. I now find that sitting higher up in a vehicle is perfect for my 510 frame. I feel much safer in the Jeep. I was also worried about turns and parking in the Jeep for its so much bigger than the Bug. Ive found that the Jeep performs better in both areas! It makes sharp turns with ease, U-Turns are a breeze, and parking is no problem. Except for being a gas guzzler, I recommend this vehicle to anyone!

This is my Second Liberty Limited - 2006 Jeep Liberty
By lcom - October 4 - 10:43 amI fell in love with my Jeep Liberty, from the moment I first test drove one in 2003. When the 2002 lease was up on our Light Khaki Brown, the only question we had was what color to pick for the 2006 lease. We opted for the Inferno Red Crystal Pearl Coat. This is a great, all around smaller SUV, with tons of head room and leg room for tall people. I get comments all the time from back seat passengers who are shocked at the amount of room they have. Easy to wash, can load it up with gear or groceries, and ... it doesnt look like every other SUV out there on the road. Easy to drive, easy to park and great towing capacity.

Luv it - 2006 Jeep Liberty
By ugafan - June 7 - 7:40 amI just got my Jeep Liberty and I love it. There are a few drawbacks but nothing enough to have swayed me to another vehicle. The gas mileage is about the only bad thing I can say about my Liberty. It looks great, is fun to drive and it is a Jeep.

2006 Jeep Liberty Sport - 2006 Jeep Liberty
By xc guy - March 23 - 2:30 pmI have had this vehicle for three months and am very satisfied. Good power and smooth operating engine and transmission. Excellent heater and a much better radio than I had expected. So far, a very good winter vehicle.
