Dont have an accident in this vehicle - 2000 Honda Passport
By sdcausa - October 30 - 2:00 amAll I can say is do everything you can to avoid having a front end collision with this vehicle. The bumper and hood must be made of tin foil the way they fold up in a low impact collision. We rear ended another car at less than 10 miles per hour and sustained more than $5,000 in damage. The hood folded up like a taco. Were selling this vehicle based on saftey issues.

Not Bad after all - 1996 Honda Passport
By Rhea - October 28 - 2:00 amI purchased this vehicle as an inbetween from an old clunker suv until I can afford a brand new one. This has felt like a new car, No mechanical problems, door locks like to stay down on the unlock though, and I personally cant stand the automatic locking doors as soon as the ignition key is turned! (took me three times of getting locked out while motor running to get many duplicate keys made!) Goes thru 1 qt oil every 2-3k. Lifters make a bit more noise than I think they should. But other than that, Its been a nice car, Getting ready to look for that Brand new one soon!

Death Trap - 1999 Honda Passport
By In a Death Trap - October 25 - 2:00 amThe Passport was bought used with 30K miles. In less than a year, the ABS system had to be replaced, the Check Engine light enables & disenables on a regular basis, the gas gauge broke & the component for that was replaced, & the computer require "adjustment". The worst thing of all, while driving & no method to the madness, the engine simply turns off. Its an automatic & is very difficult to stop without the engine on. I sincerely fear for my & my childrens lives (age 7 mos. & 8 years). Honda should take some responsibility for this one.

$28,000 DOWN THE TUBE! - 1999 Honda Passport
By Amy+3boys - October 16 - 2:00 amThis vehicle has been a money pit! I bought it with 5,000 miles on it and paid over $25,000! It has been junk. The back window has always squeaked. The remote key entrys both broke within a few months. THE whole ABS brake system had to be replaced. The ENGINE had major repair damage this summer costing over $5,000 AND my gas gage stays on empty ALL THE TIME...ANOTHER REPAIR! oh YEAH! I have had another thing repaired that cost over $350 but I cant even remember what is was...NOTHING has been under warranty because the miles. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY IT HAS BEEN!

This is not a great car - 2002 Honda Passport
By Sail - September 30 - 2:00 amI dont know why Honda wantedto ruin its reputation by marketing a Isuzu Rodeo. I had a great confidence in Honda and that was the reason I bought my Passport (iT IS ACTUALLY AN isuzu Rodeo. Too bad I didnt know that and It was too late when I realized that). After I bought this car, I have to go to the dealer very frequently. The reliability of this car is horrible. vThe ride is very bumpy as well.

Honest Opinion - 1997 Honda Passport
By David22 - August 26 - 2:00 amHere are the problems that I encountered: power windows regulators kept going out & noisey lifters during colder seasons. I did research and found that the noisey lifters are a common theme with these vehicles, but no recall existed. I decided to get rid of the vehicle since different noises started to occur sporadically from the engine and no shop could diagnose the problem. I was concerned about reliability and longevity. Overall, if the vehicle didnt have the engine problems, I would still own this vehicle. Other than build quality issues, I loved the vehicle styling.

. - 1997 Honda Passport
By Teletac - August 25 - 2:00 amThis car was ok at first, but the more ive driven it the more i have grown to dislike it. It has a poor ride, wind noise becomes a cacophany, every bump is pronounced, the engine is quite loud and not smooth at all, steering needs improvement, the rear seats become uncomfotable on long trips (especially for taller people), it lacks adjustable seatbelt anchorages, and it lacks power rearview mirrors, adjusting them becomes tedious. Lets just say im glad Honda got rid of this Isuzu SUV and replaced it with its own.
