  • Still Going Strong - 1995 Honda Passport

We bought this new in 95 -8 years ago. We have not put a penny into this SUV for any repairs whatsoever! Absolutely the best, most reliable vehicle weve ever owned. Would like something newer now, just because, but will definitely get a new Passport.

  • Hmm, I guess its alright - 1999 Honda Passport

I always liked the look of the Honda Passport although several of my friends jokingly called it the Assport. I have since bought and would have had a huge problem with a BLOWN catalytic converter, but as luck would rarely have it my warranty covered the $1700+ expense. I sorta glad it did happen because of a couple things that I had been putting off which were covered under another extended warranty I had purchased -- fuel gauge and horrible brakes. The brakes are still crappy I believe the SUV burns a quart of oil every 3000 miles. Rides like an Amish wagon. Highway noise is like driving a wiffleball down the highway.

  • What a - 1995 Honda Passport

Driving our 1995 Passport EX 4x4 has been very enjoyable. ride has been comfortable, plenty of room, rear also, just a little stiff...weve had very little repair other than the usual maintenance. averaged 14 in the city and nearly 19 on the road./..this vehcile has plenty of uphill power with its electronic gear shifter..the 4wheel has been superb in the snow weve taken it on several long trips never feelling driver or passenger fatigue. theres some air noise from the moon roof, but not bad, it can be drowned out by a little low music...hope to find another quality SUV in our near future...

This is my third Honda and up to this point, I was one of Hondas biggest fans...up till now. Honda should step up to the plate and recall all of these things. What an Embarrassment to the name (or lack there of). I really missed the boat on this one. I should have done my homework before I bought it, now not only do I have a huge car payment, but repair bills every 3 months. I cant wait to get rid of this thing (if I can) and get a Toyota. Even if it costs me more a month, it would be worth it!!!!

  • What a GREAT SUV - 2000 Honda Passport
    By -

I have owned my Passport for over three years. I love everything about it. The ride, the interior space and the CD/Stereo. The reliability and dependability of the Passport has been great. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who is considering the purchase of an SUV.

  • There are better ones - 1999 Honda Passport

I bought my Passport for my wife. She absolutely loves it. I, on the other hand, find it very uncomfortable to drive. On the passenger side, however, its nicer. I keep having problems with the check engine light coming on and no Honda dealer can tell me why. I dont think Honda made a good move to team with Isuzu just to get into the SUV market. Like I said, "there are better ones".

  • Great Mid-sized SUV - 2001 Honda Passport
    By -

Great mid-sized SUV. Bigger than the Liberty, more cargo space than the Mercedes or BMW. This is a REAL truck, built on a truck frame by a truck manufacturer (Isuzu), so if youre looking for a feather soft ride, pass this one by and be prepared to spend some more cash too. We didnt want to go the mini-van route and we wanted 4WD, so this is what we chose. If youre a mid-sized pick-up truck guy or gal and find yourself in the "family way", dont want to give up the feel of your 4wd pickup, but dont have the cash for a new crew-cab - this is the way to go.

  • Its Like a Family Member! - 1996 Honda Passport

The Passport has been the absolute best vehicle I have ever owned. Previous vehicles owned, Accord, Civic, BMW, Dodge Ram and VW. It has been trouble free. I have had new tires, shocks installed and general tune-ups. The reason I am writing this review is that it is now totaled from a fool pulling out into my lane. I will offer the insurance a reduced settlement in order to keep it and find someone to repair it! I LOVE THE PASSPORT THAT MUCH! Yes the door locks stick and it is using some oil but it has been an extremely inexpensive vehicle to drive. By the way...GREAT crash protection. Absorbed much of the collision with minor injury to myself.
