1999 LX Wagon - 1999 Honda Passport
By Chawtho - June 10 - 2:00 amIve owned a lot of Hondas in my life and its very obvious this is not a Honda. It looks good from the outside but the Honda quality that I have become accustomed to is not there. Tailgate is very squeaky and poorly designed. Also the ride quality is sub- standard compared to other SUVs in this class. Just an average vehicle and nothing to write home about. I bought it used about a year ago and have had no major mechanical problems at this point.

Its a Truck - 1999 Honda Passport
By MB2 - May 31 - 2:00 amMain annoyances are the sometimes squeeky tailgate window and frequently squeeky hood latch. Overall fit and finish are not near the quality you get with a real Honda. It rides like a heavy truck, which it is. Gas mileage is not good. Seats get uncomfortable during long drives. Also a lot of wind and tire noise on the hiway. Very capable off-road vehicle, plenty of power, low end torque, clearance, and decent handling. Good stability in snow and ice. So far no mechanical problems with the brakes or engine (48,000 miles). Well still probably look for something different in the next year or two.

My Passport - 2002 Honda Passport
By SUVlady - May 11 - 2:00 amThis has been an excellent vehicle for me and has provided good transporation through a heavy snow season. The 4- wheel drive on the fly performed well and was easy to use by just pushing the button. No major mechanical problems. I am a satisfied customer.

Great SUV - 1999 Honda Passport
By jsol95 - May 2 - 2:00 amWell this is a very good suv, built on a solid platform and the 4X4 is excelent.....I know this information because I drive it all the time on the Beach at NC. As for the build my wife recently got into a car wreck and the car is so well put together that it held up in a 45mph head on collision without any injuries, the truck however is totalled, yet its only totaled due to the fact its a very expencive vehicle in insurance standards..I recomend this suv to anyone...and Im heading out to buy the Izusu brother.....

Beg to differ - 2000 Honda Passport
By Helene - April 29 - 2:00 amI read your review of the Passport 2000 but fell in love with this car the moment I drove it. Im 55 and 54". I slide in and out of it like a CD, the seat fits me like a kid glove and the view is marvelous. Im not going to go into the wilderness so none of that matters. I find it drives very well around town and flies on the freeway. I feel like 25 again! As a Honda Accord owner of 10 years I say this Passport deserves the H on its hood even though its an Isuzu in disguise.

Honda Passport - 1999 Honda Passport
By JTF - April 29 - 2:00 amI have owned alot of vehicles in my life and by far this is the worst one yet! What an embarrassment to Honda the passport was. All the problems you read about in the other reviews I have had all of them. Honda makes a good product but to bad they didnt make this one (its an Isuzu). DO NOT BUY A 1999 OR NEWER PASSPORT, THAY ARE JUNK RIGHT OFF THE DEALER FLOOR!!! If you are looking for a mid size suv buy a pathfinder.

Great Ride - 1999 Honda Passport
By drawsampson - April 23 - 2:00 amI have had my Passport for eight mos. and have had only one problem with it and that was the ABS controller which was under warrenty so it really was no problem at all. Durint the past Christmas we drove over 3000 miles and the only complaint I have is the lack of cargo. My wife and I really dig this car.

Nice SUV - 2000 Honda Passport
By Ryno - March 18 - 2:00 amThe Honda Passport is a great looking SUV that also has good road manners and excellent engine power. My model is the EX 2 wheel drive with the CD changer, two-tone paint and leather. We enjoy it alot and recommend it to prospective shoppers as a great value in the preowned market. We bought it used and have not any problems with it.

Crappy Little Car - 2000 Honda Passport
By RVT40 - February 26 - 2:00 amDont waste your money on this car. It rattles and squeeks constantly. It feels like it has no shocks or suspension on any kind on bumpy roads. It doesnt "feel"safe at all.

1998 Passport - 1998 Honda Passport
By Benton - February 24 - 2:00 amMy husband and I bought a 1998 Honda passport this past June from a Paramount Honda dealership. We bought the extended warranty and had it certified. That was the best thing we could have done, because within one month of having the car, it was in the service dept. for major repairs. We have had to bring it in for repairs about once a month. This vehicle has been nothing but a headache, and we are now trading for something more reliable.
