The Prizm that keeps on giving! - 1994 Geo Prizm
By PRIZMLSI - April 5 - 5:33 pmThe car is great all around, I bought it off of my neighbor after it sat for 2 years, believe it or not all I had to do was put in a new battery and the thing started right up! Runs great. I loved driving the car so much, I got it repainted, 17" chrome rims, factory style spoiler, pinstripe, and new speakers... Still workin on it as of now. Great car, has a lot of pep.

distributor cap or fuel line?? - 1995 Geo Prizm
By robin - March 27 - 9:02 pmIve been dealing with an ongoing problem with my 1995 Geo Prizm that is beginning to make driving no fun! The problem? The car turns over and over, but will not start. Eventually it will turn over and start, and then its o.k for about 3-4 days. Just checking under the hood I saw sparks off the distributor cap. Could this be the problem? Does the distributor cap prevent the car from starting?

Great Car - 1996 Geo Prizm
By Jim - March 25 - 1:27 pmA great car for a beginner, not a lot of power but gets you from here to there safely. Since it was my first car ive beaten it, and it has lasted. I yank up the e-brake, do burnouts, and power shift it and it still runs the same with no problems. Very fun car to mess around in for very cheap. I got the car for 1700 with 137,000 miles on it and now im up to 153000. In this time, ive had 2 flat tires which happens to all cars, an oxygen sensor, and a new belt.

Best first car for a kid! - 1997 Geo Prizm
By Quackingpenguin - March 23 - 7:35 pmThis was an amazing little car. I bought it in 2005 because i was sick of not having a car at school. In the 2 and a half years I drove it I put about 75,000 miles on it with out any big issues. I hit a deer and did much less damage to the car then I had expected, and it was CHEAP and EASY to fix. My dad liked this car because we could do a lot of the work ourselves. The only down side was it was hard to find replacement parts for like the body of it. It turned 200,000 miles and that is the only reason I sold it. I bet it has another 100,000 left in it!

I loved this car - 1996 Geo Prizm
By boo18 - February 7 - 4:50 pmThis was my most favorite car. I only had to replace the tires and the battery. It had great gas mileage and was super dependable. It started up on the coldest days of winter without a problem. So sad that I lost it to a car accident, I was planning on keeping that car for another 100,000 miles

Almost a quarter million miles - 1991 Geo Prizm
By chuck - January 31 - 1:05 pmBought this car used from sister in law in 2002. Have put very little maintenance into it but it seems like the engine will run forever, never fails even in cold desmoines winters. Great gas mileage, only thing is need to replace exhaust pipes cat converter, just cant seem to justify getting a newer car when this keeps going and going, I love my geo!

GREAT LITTLE CAR - 1990 Geo Prizm
By greatlittlecar - December 30 - 5:21 pmWhen I married my wife 11 years ago, she owned a 1990 geo prism. We later learned it had been previously wrecked. About two years ago (2005) I was rear-ended in it. The insurance company totaled it out, but we bought it back and repaired it. The only problem I have with this car is that it will not die. It now has over 306,000 miles on it and still runs great. I change oil every 10,000 and use the cheapest I can buy. I have did this since 100,000. I would like a new car but see no reason to get rid of our Geo.

163,000 miles and still counting - 1995 Geo Prizm
By RowdyHowdy - December 28 - 9:26 pmWe bought it new in 1995. It has been used primarily for commuting to work. The only unscheduled repair was to replace the starter. The interior fabric has held up very well to years of use. The exterior has held up well with minimal rust. Weve had the timing belt replaced twice and changed the 4 speed auto trans fluid and filter a couple of times. Ive done the oil and filter changes at 3500 to 4000 miles and the 1.8 engine uses no oil between changes. This has been an incredible car and we just cant force ourselves to get rid of it even though we have more cars than drivers. It gets amazing gas mileage in our mostly rural driving @ 35 to 42 MPG!
