Overview & Reviews
For 2000, the 2WD can be had with a "Trailhead" off-road style suspension package complete with larger tires and wheels, giving it the tough look of its 4WD cousin. All 2000 Ford Ranger models have new wheel designs, and the XLT 4WD Off-Road Group receives a stainless-steel front-suspension skid plate.
- Four-door entry, five-speed automatic and optional flexible fuel/electric powertrains, thoughtful interior.

Bearings shot at 30,000 miles - 2000 Ford Ranger
By BadBearings@30k - April 24 - 2:00 amI expected better quality from my Ranger. My front bearings started grinding around 23,000 miles and now I have to replace them at 30,000.

00 Ford Ranger XLT: One Perfect Pickup! - 2000 Ford Ranger
By JasonT - April 14 - 2:00 amI bought my Ranger in late August/ early September 01. The mileage was about 24k and it was still in excellent condition. The overall look of the truck was one of the main reasons why I bought it. Another reason was because I liked the fact that there was a Flex-Fuel engine in it. Even with just 150 horses, this engine moves the Ranger along like there is no tomorrow! Since I have purchased it, I have installed a hood deflector which makes this truck look simply beautiful! I couldnt ask for a better truck.

A Good Truck - 2000 Ford Ranger
By cmenchen - April 14 - 2:00 amI needed a pickup ruck for light hauling, ie. lawn tractor, snowmobile, etc. The bed, while not as big as a full size has plenty of room for everything I need. It is very menuvarable and has good visability. It has the 3.0L V6 Automatic trans. which seems lacking in pep for a 6 cylinder. Gas mialage is about 16 mph, which I hear is good for a pickup truck but seems a little on the low side to me. All in all this is a great truck with plent of room in front and enough room in the extended cab for a car seat or any odds and ends you want to tote around without getting wet.

a good buy 4 a small truck - 2000 Ford Ranger
By paulh - March 25 - 2:00 amWhen I retired I was looking for a small truck to use for house hold errands and light hauling (mulch, hobby equip. etc) I wanted to get good milage and a comfortable cab ride ( I didnt want to feel I was crammed inside a small compartment) and with this truck I got all i wished for. I like the utility the long wheelbase offers me without a big fuel bill. 22mpg avg.
