New sheet metal for the venerable pony. The LX model and hatchback are dropped. The base Mustang gets a 3.8-liter V6, and GT models receive a boost in horsepower. Four-wheel disc brakes are standard on both Mustangs and ABS becomes an available option. A passenger airbag, power driver seat, and tilt steering wheel become standard in 1994. Convertibles are available with a removable hardtop.

By talon16 - January 6 - 12:57 pmI purchased this car new in 1994 and loved it from the start. It has been reliable and a good performer. As far as maintenance is concerned, the tranny has been replaced twice, mostly due to my own negligence.

By ftec - October 1 - 8:15 amHaving 3 different Mustang types I find the 94 convertible GT a real nice ride. Tight road handle solid off the line. Need to make a few mods to get some more performance without breaking the bank. No rattles and engine runs strong. Cupholder is in a bad spot.

Reliable vehicle, great race car platform - 1994 Ford Mustang
By KJ - December 5 - 7:17 pmI bought this car in 1996 and only had to replace the water pump at 80,000 miles. Other things needed work but were accidents like road debris, etc. When the car reached 103,000 miles, it was still running strong with no problems other than wear and tear parts like brakes and the clutch. But, I tore it down and now it still looks the same, but makes BIG power.

Self-healing car!!! - 1994 Ford Mustang
By TimbrSS - October 5 - 2:00 amUltra reliable... bought car with 92k, replaced water pump. Replaced a Tie rod and U-Joint at 175k. Car now has 192k on it. Other than wear items like tires and suspension, Ive only spent $200 or so to keep it running. I could not be happier with it. I tell all my friends that the car is self healing, since I rarely ever have to work on it.

Beautiful but a pain in the butt. - 1994 Ford Mustang
By PinkLady - July 1 - 2:00 amI was so excited when I found my dream car in my favorite color (I have the rare Iris anniversary color..a pink/purple) but the car has been nothing but a nightmare. At 116k my head gaskets blew. Other replacements: power steering pump, thermostat, thermostat housing, entire exhaust system, wires controling the head lights, and more. I love this car, its fun to drive, but now that its finally running great Im going to get rid of it before something else goes wrong.

By gtgirl - May 11 - 2:00 amI have had my Mustang for 9 years now and have 144,000 miles on it. This has been the best car I have had by far, great gas mileage (22MPG) great handling and just an all around great car. I have changed the oil every 2500 miles and had to do just maintenance work and that is it. She is still going stong and I plan on passing it to my daughter when I get my new 2005 Mustang in March of 2005.
