  • A lot from a little - 2016 Ford Escape

I am 63" and weigh about 21 stone [that sounds so much better than 300 lbs] and can easily get in and out of this car and ride 100+ miles per without being beat up in the process. For a small SUV it has a stable, solid ride and keeps me cool even in Houstons heat. This is maybe the ideal run around car.

  • The car decides when it goes into 4WD, WTH??? - 2016 Ford Escape
    By -

This vehicle is provided to me by my employer. They were robbed! How do I despise thee?? Let me count the ways: 1. You can NOT put the vehicle in 4wd when you think it is necessary. Only the car can make that decision. 2. Radio is a joke. Frequently have to turn it off and back on the be able the switch stations. Programing the radio isnt easy or logical. 3. The backup camera is inset so far it makes it difficult to see and if the sun is out at all the reflections and glare make it useless. 4. Caller ID on screen seldom works. You will get the phone number but not the callers name. I could go on, but whats the point. Ford likes to make vehicles look good but doesnt care if anything actually works.

  • Bought this car new - 2016 Ford Escape

So today I have the dilemma of my car. It is a 2016 ford Escape very basic very standard model. I use this as my child hauler and daily driver to work. This car had major issues about 8 months after I bought it. I was on the interstate and the car quit accelerating and started shaking violently. I was in the fast lane and couldnt get the car to accelerate. I began to slow at a high rate, and couldnt get over to the shoulder because it was peak hours for traffic in Knoxville tn. I call the dealership and they tell me to bring it in once I have gotten the car shut off it stops acting crazy I start it up and it goes back to normal. I take it to ford where they say there is nothing wrong with the car. The next day I am out with my kids after work and it starts again, it is vibrating really hard throwing codes onto the screen and wont accelerate, so I pull over and Video tape this whole incident. This car clearly has something wrong with it. I take it directly to ford. They find out it is a throttle position sensor. They replace it the car runs fine until yesterday. Almost a year later. The last thing happened the week of thanksgiving. The car keeps acting like the battery is dead. Just out of the blue. I will turn it off and all I get is CLICK CLICK CLICK. You can not even get to the battery properly to actually jump it. Some guys helped me while me and my children were stranded in a weigles parking lot. They couldnt get to the ground post or negative post, only the positive post. They hooked to the positive post and then used the negative one on anything else under the hood. The car started, I took it home parked it and left it running. Then I shut it off got in it and drove it back out to get ice as we are taking a trip (the last time the car malfunctioned we were going to take it on a trip and decided it was too dangerous to use on a long road trip pretty sad when you got a new car and wont take it out on a trip). I get out to get the ice, I shut the car off thinking it would be fine.. nope stuck again. Guys helped me jump it again.. got it on the road took it home where this morning it didnt start so I had to use an older car to get to work... it is funny how my husbands 12 years old truck has never given him a day of trouble. Neither has his 4 year old truck.. but my brand new car has been a lemon and we do not take it on long trips due to the fact it is a hazard for ourselves and our children.

Great for two on long trip back seats ok for kids not for adults. No storage to speak of . Have to put down rear seat to carry my wifes wheel chair

  • A really good small sum with excellent awd, mileage - 2016 Ford Escape
    By -

Great suv with superior mileage, and handling. Good acceleration with my 1.6 turbo. The only complaint is that the road noise is not well suppressed and the engine noise under acceleration is not well damped. Obviously not enough sound deadening materials were, used on this car. That is too bad as the vehicle is excellent in all other aspects ! One complaint. When operating in hot dry weather , the breaks have a high pitched squeal when vehicle is slowing to a stop. Dealer found nothing amiss and I am living with it. Interested if any others have this problem.

  • Going Backwards - 2016 Ford Escape

I have been driving a Ford Escape Hybrid for the past 6 years and LOVE IT, so I naturally went looking to buy another one. Imagine my surprise. While it is a beautiful vehicle with lots of storage in the back, there is no place to put ANYTHING, including a cell phone in the front. They took away every nook and cranny. While I LOVED the Jukebox feature whereby I could upload all of my music to the hard drive of the car and easily access it, they took that feature away. They also took away the ability to play a DVD on the screen in the front seat of the car. On long trips, I loved taking a break at a rest area and mindlessly watching a DVD while I rested. Also taken away were the wonderful mirrors within mirrors so that I could see if a vehicle was in my blind spots. Now there is a warning light, but you cant actually SEE the vehicle. So, while there have been some wonderful improvements, I will miss those four features immensely.

This is my second Escape and again, I was not disappointed. The car looks good, handles great and is a nice value. The size is perfect for me. It holds what I need in the cargo area (golf clubs, shoes, etc.) and is easy to maneuver. I got the 2.0L engine and it accelerates quite nicely. All in all, am delighted.

  • Cracked Radiator - 2016 Ford Escape

With Less than 30,000 miles, had to get it towed twice and went through 2 cracked radiators. Not happy

  • I love this car! - 2016 Ford Escape

I didnt realize how much I was going to love this car. It is so comfortable, even for a small person, and I can see out the windows. I feel like I need a booster seat in most cars. We rent a lot of cars on vacation and that is how we discovered the Escape.
