I must say this compact suv is the best vehicle ive owned so far.Ive tried many different vehicles but none stood up to the stability and held up to the honor this vehicle does.My last truck didnt last me more than year and half of my life.I drove it from 7 miles to 35000 miles in that 18 months i owned it and had nothing but transmission problems. My ford escape has been the best in room looks reliability and stability for me and has far suprased the test of my drivingfar surpased any expectations i had imagined.Ive had the prevlidgeand state that everyone should takethe chance to experience the love you could have for this vehicle!!

Had my mind set on the Saturn Vue. Also drove the CR-V, Outlander and Rendevous. Nothing compares for power, options and comfort in this price range as far as I am concerned. I got a 201 HP engine, moonroof, 4WD, 6-disc changer and power seats, and ABS all for the same price as I would have paid for the FWD V6 with no extras in the VUE. I love my new truck.

  • Pretty nice - 2003 Ford Escape

Overall, Ive had a pretty good experience. Its nice and roomy and I love the bumper because I have lightly bumped a few things and no scratches. The ride is smooth and handles nicely. Even though its 4 years old people still tell me it still has that new car smell. Only complaints are the matte finish on the radio is chipping off, the cover of the gas cap sometimes pops open, and my biggest complaint is the CD player. Ever since I first got the car it sometimes makes this horrible noise and pops the CD out, I can usually pop the CD back and play normally though.

  • Perfect SUV - 2003 Ford Escape

I traded in my 1996 Limited Explorer for a new XLT Premium 4x4 Escape. This mini suv is everything I could ask for and more. It handles much more like a car than an suv and with the 3.o liter V6 engine it is really fast off the line. Although they say its not recommended for off roading I often take it and has never let me down. I would highly recommend the Escape to anyone!

This has been a fun vehicle to drive. I wanted a small SUV for short distance driving and this has been the perfect auto for my purpose. Back passenger seats fold down easily making room for plenty of cargo. Major problem at 24,000 miles...the auto transmission started to slip between gear changes. The dealer replaced the transmission and all appears to be fine. I believe there may be a technical bulletin by Ford for transmission problems with mileage over 20,000 for problems like I was experiencing.

Between my mother and I, weve had this Escape since 2003. We both love it. My major problems is that my fuel economy has been tanking since about 40000 miles or so.

Ive only had my 2003 Escape for about three weeks now but I do love it! This is my first SUV and it took a little getting used to but now that I am, Ill never go back to driving a car. The Escape handles great, has great acceleration and looks really sporty. The interior is roomy except I think that the seats are too short. This is the only thing that keeps the comfort level from being perfect. The stereo has great sound and I love having the six disc cd changer in the dash. I miss the outside temp, compass displays and lighted vanity mirrors from my car. Waiting for snow to check out the 4 wheel drive as this will be my first experience with it. Overall, its a great vehicle.

  • escape vs other small suvs - 2003 Ford Escape

I test drove the honda crv and the mitsubishi outlander. Both of these vehicles were four cylinders and just didnt have the pep of the escape six cylinder. The interior is roomy and outside very stylish. Weve had one nine inch snow storm and one ice storm. The escape handled like a charm in bad weather. The extra power is well worth it despite a slight drop in full economy. So far Im averaging twenty five mpg on the highway and a very smooth ride at that
