  • Good SUV - 2003 Ford Escape
    By -

So far its been a very good SUV. Good performance, handling and design. Gas mileage is average for a V6, better than the 4.0 jeep but worse than the Japanese V6s. Drives like a car, and very good off-road and I dont even have the 4wd.

  • The best SUV - 2003 Ford Escape

This has to be the best Suv. I have the 2003 Ford Escape 4x4 Limited fully loaded. The color is True Blue with Tan Leather interior. Of all the Suvs I test drove this one handles the best and has alot of pick up. It also has the most opitions in its class.

  • Bad Paint - 2003 Ford Escape
    By -

I love to drive my Ford Escape and the interior is good except that the gear shift is in the way of the radio controls. My problem is that the paint has not performed well at all. I took it to a car wash (big mistake) and it is covered with swirl marks! I am shocked at how bad they are. After fighting with the car wash people I was actually forced to make a claim to my insurance to have it repaired, and they thought it was bad enough to pay. So now I have a brand new vehicle with paint that looks ten years old. I even paid to get the stupid paint protectant from the dealer. My first mistake.

  • Brake for an Escape ! - 2003 Ford Escape
    By -

This is a fun and economic vehicle. I am in love with my 02 Escape because of its responsiveness, safety, and beauty. BUT ..... I think I got a jinxed model - I am having problems with the brake light and an apparent leak in the brake fluid liquid container. I have been to the dealer 4 times and I am ready to get rid of the car. Maybe I got a faulty model because I have researched this model and havent stumbled upon chronic brake issue with my car.

  • Escape 2002 with V6 FWD - 2003 Ford Escape
    By -

Compared to other cars in the subcompact SUV class, the Escapes V6 engine has the power and performance to lead the pack. Although our familys lifestyle including Summer camping trips traveling via unimproved roads and Winter ski trips in Western New York, we did not feel that we need 4wd. The front wheel drive version has been enough to get us where we want to go. An added benefit is better gas mileage with the FWD. On highway, we average 25 mpg and in city 23 mpg.

  • The Honeymoon is Over - 2003 Ford Escape

I purchased the car used with low mileage. I felt very safe driving it and it was a fun car to drive. It had a very loud ride. I paid a lot of money for new tires to make the ride quieter. Ive replaced numerous belts on the car and an alternator in 2005 right after my warranty ran out! The car has had 2 recalls in 2 years too. At 63,000 miles the tranny went. I owed $7,000 on the car and a new tranny was $4,000. Ford gave me a great deal on a trade-in and now Im trying out the Explorer!!

  • Let It Snow! - 2003 Ford Escape
    By -

After driving a rented Escape for a week in Colorado I was hooked! It was comfortable (which for me is very important, I am short and this is the first vehicle that I can drive and not feel like the steering wheel and dash are in my chest),peppy, and quiet. My driveway is 200 feet long, uphill to get out in the morning and with even an inch of snow I was never able to get out with my minivan. Now, even with 8" the Escape doesnt even struggle, it just plows right through to the top! All though I did tons of research prior to buying, I went with the Escape and Im so glad I did!

  • wifes new suv - 2003 Ford Escape

Great over all SUV, this is my wifes and she has nothing but good things to say about it. The only things that she and I do not like are that the leather seats are too firm and it has no outside temp or compass feature.

  • Excellent! - 2003 Ford Escape

I love this car! It is fun to drive and very useful when out of town for the day. It is a great buy, and i am planning on keeping it for a long time!
