Model Overview:

Crossovers with carlike ride and handling characteristics are perennially popular, and a good example of the breed is the smart-looking Ford Edge. It's a midsize crossover with seating for five. Thanks to its roomy interior, long list of amenities and available all-wheel drive, it's typically a good match for small- and medium-size families seeking a do-it-all utility vehicle.

In road tests, our editors have praised the Edge's quiet ride and advanced features like the MyFord Touch electronics interface, though as with most modern, in-car technology, there's a learning curve. Additionally, Ford offers a range of different engines in the Edge to appeal to crossover buyers seeking performance, fuel economy or a balance of both. Although the Ford Edge might not appeal to bigger families in need of high passenger capacity, it's a solid contender in most other respects.

Bought a basic SE with every option available, including towing package. Fun to drive, received favorable comments from everyone on exterior. Light Sage CC metallic exterior is perfect color and everyone I show likes it. My 1994 Ford Explorer road like a truck. This rides like a car or mini van.

  • They keep getting better - 2016 Ford Edge

This is my forth Edge so I guess I like them. There is one thing on my new 2016 Edge that I could do with out and I find it DANGEROUS. The model I have has the new kick under the rear bumper to open the tail gate. If you step in to far to get something and your foot hits the sensor it comes down on your head. This has happened many times. I was taking fishing rods out of the back and stepped in for a better grip and the tailgate came down. I had to move fast so they did not get broken. I asked the dealer to disconnect it and was told you cant. After owning 4 Edges I was hoping they would put some rear bumper protection on top of the rear bumper to protect it from taking things in and out.

  • Worth the Wait! - 2007 Ford Edge

We had to wait to get the color and features we wanted but it was worth it. Outside the CSUV is a head turner and the inside has a great balance of usable features, comfort, style and a massive Vista roof. We drove the Nissan and Mazda and they couldn’t compare to the great ride afforded by the Edge. The Edge also beats the others with better all around quality on the exterior and interior. The powerfully matched engine and transmission really sets it apart from the Nissan and the Mazda. Great looks, great performance and a good price. What a fun vehicle to drive. Too bad it’s my wife’s.

  • Original owner 07 Edge - 2007 Ford Edge

I bought my Edge in December 07 and this is June 16. I have only 74K miles on it. I had a problem with the anti lock brakes that was out of warranty $1200- and had to replace the AC compressor $1200-. Gas mileage is poor only about 17 mpg in city. It has great acceleration and Id trade some of that for better gas mileage. Great back seat leg room ! Great storage behind the rear seat ! It is the rear seat leg room and storage that sets the Edge apart fro the competition. Update 01/2017 I traded my Edge in on a 2016 Edge. I liked the 07 enough to but another.

I dont know how much I like my Edge. A good look, spacious interior especially after 2nd-row. I dont need a 3rd-row seat, but need a big cargo space which Edge is exactly having. Driving is also very nimble and responsive. I like the 6 speed auto GM co-worked together. I became a celebrity in my sub since I brought my Edge and parked it on my driveway.

  • Big leap from 01 Drango! - 2007 Ford Edge

Beautiful to look at and beautiful to drive. Pewter AWD SEL-plus heavily loaded is everything I hoped for. Smooth power, smooth handling. Well see how it stands up to my heavy foot, but initial indicators are all good. Except for sunroof, which rattles in the open position.

  • Totally Awesome! - 2015 Ford Edge

My 2015 Ford Edge Turbo 4 cylinder AWD is truly an amazing vehicle both from a styling and performance perspective.

  • Very nice SUV - 2017 Ford Edge

Ive seen so many places where people indicate this is basically a crossover on a fusion platform when it is a bona fide SUV on a truck platform! When my VIN number is entered anywhere it includes a description of "Truck". It is quite different than driving a car and takes some getting used to, especially what has been called electronic steering. ? That I could do without but I had cannot make any complaints at this time about the 2017 Edge, its sweet SUV.

  • AWD Edge is a gem - 2011 Ford Edge

Comfortable, spacious, great sound system from Sony. Handles extremely well wet or dry conditions. Keep tires rotated for balanced tread depth, or the tranny will be unhappy. Common AWD issue.

  • I love this Edge! - 2007 Ford Edge

I really love this Edge. I have about 1100 miles on this Edge and have had it two weeks. I have had no problems with my brakes they are just fine! The back windows do shake however if you crack the front windows they shake no more. This Edge has more power and rides just as nice as my previous 525I. We bought this Edge because of the leg room in the back seat!! I read about the noise coming from the engine and yes I heard it too however I dont hear it as much now since I hit 1000 miles, probably have to brake in the engine. Gas wise I cant really comment, I live in the mountains and have to climb to 3000 feet 4 times a day! Tank of gas is about a week for me. This Edge is so comfy!
