Model Overview:

Crossovers with carlike ride and handling characteristics are perennially popular, and a good example of the breed is the smart-looking Ford Edge. It's a midsize crossover with seating for five. Thanks to its roomy interior, long list of amenities and available all-wheel drive, it's typically a good match for small- and medium-size families seeking a do-it-all utility vehicle.

In road tests, our editors have praised the Edge's quiet ride and advanced features like the MyFord Touch electronics interface, though as with most modern, in-car technology, there's a learning curve. Additionally, Ford offers a range of different engines in the Edge to appeal to crossover buyers seeking performance, fuel economy or a balance of both. Although the Ford Edge might not appeal to bigger families in need of high passenger capacity, it's a solid contender in most other respects.

  • What a Great SUV! - 2016 Ford Edge

I dont use words like great and awesome very often when describing cars. However, these words describe my 2016 Ford Edge Titanium. At least so far. My wife and I are in our 60s and we decided to trade our larger Explorer for something smaller that was easy to drive around town, parking lots, and shopping centers. We wanted the SUV to look great both inside and out with plenty of technology and still maintain the internal room we needed. We did not need a third row seat. We looked at the Nissan Morano, Chevy Equinox, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. After driving the Edge my wife said this is the SUV for us.. We purchased the 302A package which gives us an abundance of safety features and upgrades. Sync 3 is so much easier to use. The touch screen is easy to see and navigate through and the voice commands have a much quicker response. The Edge is very easy to drive with an upscale looking and comfortable interior and a great design on the outside. MPG has been around 20 primarily around town with the 2.0 liter Ecoboost fwd engine and 20 inch wheels. The acceleration and power are very smooth and adequate for what we need on a daily basis..If you are looking for a Mid-Size Crossover I would highly recommend test driving the new Edge.

  • Quality not cost - 2016 Ford Edge

This crossover feels more expensive than it was. Leather interior is top notch, large comfortable seats all around. The new sync 3 system is very intuitive and easy to use, navigation works like a charm. 4cyl engine is sufficient enough this a family car not a race car folks. Handles well and we are really enjoying this vehicle.....highly recommend it.

  • I love my 2015 Edge AWD - 2015 Ford Edge

I have owned this vehicle for 9 months. First off, I love how this SUV drives like a car and handles very well. The acceleration of the 4-cylinder turbo is superb here at high elevation in Colorado, whereas a lot of other 4-cylinder vehicles are lacking in power. I purchased the SEL with leather and both power driver and passenger seats, automatic liftgate (which I love), upgraded sound system etc. The rear legroom is plentiful and its awesome that the rear seat reclines (Although, I have small children and am not able to recline it yet). The AWD is great; my vehicle handles way better in the snow than my Jeep that I traded in. Around town I average about 25 mpg per tank. I recently went on a 3000 mile road trip to Georgia and averaged around 27-28 mpg sometimes. The seats were comfortable on the trip up to about 10 hours of driving in one day. The interior is very quiet and the vehicle has a smooth ride. The safety of the vehicle is top notch, which I can attest to being involved in a 9 vehicle accident on the interstate a couple months ago. An SUV pushed a pickup truck into the back of my Edge. It felt like a hard impact but I only had a tiny dent on the plastic rear bumper cover which people dont even notice (The pickups bumper was hanging off). The only con I had was shortly after I purchased the vehicle and a rattling noise was coming from the drivers side door speaker. It seems like over time it has resolved itself. Overall, the new Ford Edge is a pleasure to drive.

  • Great SUV, High priced - 2013 Ford Edge

Easy to get in and out of, lots of room, no maintenace problems, Value drops off the lot, resale terrible pricing

  • Perfect Family Compromise - 2007 Ford Edge

If you are looking for a family vehicle but dont want a minivan or full size SUV, Edge is it. Ive read all the reviews from major publications to googling Ford Edge reviews. Only real knock I can find are the brakes, its 60-0 stop is lackluster, Ford, please address. All around, engine is stellar, 6-speed auto performs well, handling nice feel but not ultra sporty, ride quality the same, blend of comfort not to squishy (Buick Like) but not Mazda like either. Test drove all others, came down to CX-7 and Edge. Wanted the CX-7 to be the winner but Edge had more room, easier access to rear seats, ie, car seats, just more practical day to day. Crash test ratings can’t be beat.

Look at the various packages before you buy. Combining them the right way can give you substantial savings.

  • Awesome - 2007 Ford Edge

We have been shopping for a midsize SUV and have driven the Murano & Mazda CX-7. Both were nice but the Edge was far ahead on quality, ride, appearance and performance. The Edge is a solid ride with 18inch tires that smooths out bumps and noise. It really moves with the 265hp 3.5 ltr engine and it is an exciting vehicle to drive. This is a head turner with plenty of usable features. The Panoramic Vista Roof is awesome. We are looking forward to our first road trip.

  • Ford Finally Did It! - 2007 Ford Edge

I has been a die-hard import car lover. My old car was Toyota Highlander, but didnt like the style and the engine was terrible. My friend recommend to check out the Edge. At first I was hesitant, but as soon as I test drove one, I was very surprised at the fun-to-drive capability and the style. I didnt know Ford has this kind of a car before. I like the huge sunroof (Vistaroof?) and the ample center console. The 2nd row seats are folded just by a touch of a button, which is awesome. Hey, if somebody was like me driving only imports, please check this car out. Youll know what Im saying.

I am so happy with it. The Edge is just so much fun to drive. Im not real sure about the gas mileage because Im still on my first tank of gas but I was previously driving a Windstar so I can only believe it will be about the same or better! I love the power that the Edge has. The body style is absolutely gorgeous! My Edge is the Creme Brulee color - it looks very classy.
