Model Overview:

Crossovers with carlike ride and handling characteristics are perennially popular, and a good example of the breed is the smart-looking Ford Edge. It's a midsize crossover with seating for five. Thanks to its roomy interior, long list of amenities and available all-wheel drive, it's typically a good match for small- and medium-size families seeking a do-it-all utility vehicle.

In road tests, our editors have praised the Edge's quiet ride and advanced features like the MyFord Touch electronics interface, though as with most modern, in-car technology, there's a learning curve. Additionally, Ford offers a range of different engines in the Edge to appeal to crossover buyers seeking performance, fuel economy or a balance of both. Although the Ford Edge might not appeal to bigger families in need of high passenger capacity, it's a solid contender in most other respects.

  • Ford Edge delivers comfort and quick acceleration! - 2016 Ford Edge

The Ford Edge Titanium 2.0 Eco boost is amazing! Great acceleration and roomy interior. I have been a Honda girl for 32 years. I drove the CR-V and was disappointed in the lack of acceleration and road noise. The Honda Pilot was just too large for my needs. So I started my research and realized the Ford Edge was in the top 10 best SUVs in Consumer Reports. The other high ranking SUVs were very nice but larger than what I needed. The Ford Edge has a potential of reaching 30MPG which also played a role in what I wanted in my SUV. The redesigned body and interior is very classy and as nice as the high end SUVs! Plenty of leg room and good cargo space. Cabin is pretty quiet. Visibility is great! AC is cold with good fan speed options , and it has vents for the back seats as well. I paid extra for the panoramic sun roof as in my previous vehicles, I used my sun roof as often as the weather would allow. I love it! You will not be disappointed if your purchase the Ford Edge! Ford has done a fabulous job bringing this vehicle to the top 10 SUVs!

  • Needs better gps - 2017 Ford Edge

Voice command not intuitive. Needs Garmin GPS or Tesla built in

  • Open airbag recall cannot be fulfilled by Ford - 2008 Ford Edge

The strong engine is the only good thing about this vehicle. Electronics are not great. MAF failure. Bluetooth on early SYNC is not great. Goofy interior plastics. Also, the "Sealed" transmission is not serviceable in the vehicle. Not good. Then the recalls came in waves... finally I didnt feel comfortable having my family riding around in a vehicle with a potentially faulty airbag. So I ditched this thing and got into a different manufacturers new SUV.

The cars gas performance is less than advertised. The battery is inadequate. Otherwise its a great little car

  • Wonderful Mid SUV - 2013 Ford Edge

I wish that the trunk would open higher and I wish the side mirrors were larger. The touch screen entertainment center needs to be revamped as the "buttons" tend to work 80% of the time when touched. Also, attempting to connect a smartphone to the cars Bluetooth can be quite the headache-inducing chore if it works at all. This is a wonderful vehicle. Bravo, Ford.

I love it! The gas mileage is right where I need it. The style makes me feel young but the amount of space inside allows my kids to comfortably be transported from game to game with friends.

  • Fantastical - 2013 Ford Edge

Bought my Edge after a lifetime of Hondas, only wish I had sooner. Sporty look, classy interior, gas mileage grrreat in city. Holds the road so well with its solidness. Back seat very roomy and comfortable. Drove across USA the first week I bought the Edge; couldnt have performed better. A+

  • Loving my Edge - 2007 Ford Edge

I traded in a gas guzzling F-150 for the new Edge and couldnt be happier. Im getting about 50% better gas mileage in town (13 vs. 19mpg) which should improve as the engine gets worn in a little more. I also own a Chrysler Pacifica (which we love) but this vehicle is more fun to drive and has better acceleration. I have just over 1000 miles on it now and cant find anything I dont like about it. I find myself having to gingerly press the gas pedal or I will be going 70 in the city before I know it. Got it with the Nav system and can now say it was worth the extra cost, especially since it becomes a central control center for the other audio/video systems
