Model Overview:

Crossovers with carlike ride and handling characteristics are perennially popular, and a good example of the breed is the smart-looking Ford Edge. It's a midsize crossover with seating for five. Thanks to its roomy interior, long list of amenities and available all-wheel drive, it's typically a good match for small- and medium-size families seeking a do-it-all utility vehicle.

In road tests, our editors have praised the Edge's quiet ride and advanced features like the MyFord Touch electronics interface, though as with most modern, in-car technology, there's a learning curve. Additionally, Ford offers a range of different engines in the Edge to appeal to crossover buyers seeking performance, fuel economy or a balance of both. Although the Ford Edge might not appeal to bigger families in need of high passenger capacity, it's a solid contender in most other respects.

  • Incredible! - 2007 Ford Edge

I have been caught in two snow storms since the purchase of my Edge. I must tell you it handled great! In dry conditions the ride on the highway is very smooth and plush. The feel of a high end luxurious vehicle.

The Edge is a nice enough vehicle, however try to drive it with the back windows down. You will experience a "shake" like no other. The vibration in the vehicle is so bad the interior door panels shake visibly. Ford acknowledges the problem with a service advisory that states there is no servce at this time. The dealership wants nothing to do with your issue after they receive your money and the solution is dont try to drive it with only the back windows down. Ford states they will not set a precident on this issue with a trade in certificate therefore, your will be stuck.

Its a dream car. It does everything I could want in a car. I have already taken it in a wide variety of conditions (all but snow) and it has been great in all of them. I highly recommend this car and think Ford made a great vehicle! I have only had it for 6 weeks/2000 miles, but there is not an issue with it so far. I enjoy every drive I have with my Edge and cant wait to take it home again tonight.

  • Loved the car for 8 years, but then.... - 2008 Ford Edge

Beware of the the water pump on the 3.5L engine. Search the internet lots of water pump failures resulting in severe engine damage. I loved this car. I purchased it new, no problems until 92K when the water pump failed with no warning. No warning lights, no fluid leaks. If youre thinking of buying one used with a 3.5L, be sure to have the water pump checked out first.

  • Really nice car - 2007 Ford Edge

So far, I am liking my new Edge. A little dissappointed with the gas mileage, but maybe it needs a break in. It is a very quiet smooth ride. There are so many nice options that i liked about it. The audiophile radio is awesome. Love the sun roof!! The airconditioning is not as strong as my Maxima was. I wish it had an outdoor temp gauge. The back hatch is quite heavy to pull down. But I am very pleased overall with the car!

  • Not a bad Cross over - 2017 Ford Edge

Babysitting my friends new Edge till I pick him up at the airport . Pros.. nice interior and lay out . NAV is quite good with large 8 screen, back up camera and tech package/ cross traffic alert / bliss works well. No road or tire noise from inside. , Sony radio and 9 speaker sounds good but not in the class of other good systems . Ingress / egress is excellent with plenty of room for folks over 6 tall. The 2.0L engine lacks low end torque but once you get going there is plenty of power. I would of opt for the V-6 but gas mileage is better with the small turbo. Seating SELmodels non sport seats are so much more comfortable than the Titaniums sport seating . Big / tall drivers beware . The Cons ... not many but they are something to consider if buying . The hood flares up on both sides so when your driving it hard to see / judge around turns and corners / tight spots . The hood flares up closest to both sides of the driver and passage window . This to me is very annoying . visibility is a little obstructed by window pillars and sloped back window. Im sure after a few weeks you could get used to it. Last thing that I noticed was the Foot rest by the door where your non driving foot rests. It should of been placed back another 2 inches and slanted more at a 45 degree angle . Tall people beware this could be annoying on long trips . Overall comparing it to other Cross Overs the 2017 ford edge is definitely at the top of the pack.

  • Great Design/ Good Mileage - 2007 Ford Edge

I must say I am so pleased and impressed with my Edge. This is the first American vehicle that I have liked in a long time. I am a former Acura driver and although I loved my TL I was not impressed with there SUV. The Edge design caught my eye and after test driving it I was sold. It has been a real head turner and people ask me about it all the time.

  • Test drove them all - 2017 Ford Edge

I had a VW TDI and knew VW was going to be buying my VW back so I had many months to shop for the perfect car for me. I test drove them all numerous times and each time I came back to the Ford Edge. I wanted a vehicle that was sturdy on the road, solid when you closed the door and quite on the road....and it needed to have plenty of power. That is what the Ford Edge gave me! Because this care was so smooth on the road and luxurious inside, I decided to go with a black color since it made me feel like I was riding in a sedan made to drive a world leader. I look forward to driving this car everyday!

  • So far so good - 2016 Ford Edge

It has pretty much everything we needed. The only thing that i regret not including is a front camera. Great ecoboost, pretty good on gas millage.

  • Better than expected! - 2007 Ford Edge

I, as many others, was very skeptical about Fords first real crossover. (Freestyle doesnt really count). I test drove it as well as the GMC Acadia. What it came down to for me was the lease deal. Ford is pushing the Edge pretty hard and the lease interest rate I got was .75%. That pretty much sealed the deal for me. But once I started driving it I was totally blown away. First off, the drive is super smooth and quiet. Its quick and relatively agile. Bottom line... FUN! The interior has some minor lower quality plastics, but the overall quality is very good. The leather seats are very high quality and look and feel terrific. Overall this CUV seems to be a home run!
