Model Overview:

Crossovers with carlike ride and handling characteristics are perennially popular, and a good example of the breed is the smart-looking Ford Edge. It's a midsize crossover with seating for five. Thanks to its roomy interior, long list of amenities and available all-wheel drive, it's typically a good match for small- and medium-size families seeking a do-it-all utility vehicle.

In road tests, our editors have praised the Edge's quiet ride and advanced features like the MyFord Touch electronics interface, though as with most modern, in-car technology, there's a learning curve. Additionally, Ford offers a range of different engines in the Edge to appeal to crossover buyers seeking performance, fuel economy or a balance of both. Although the Ford Edge might not appeal to bigger families in need of high passenger capacity, it's a solid contender in most other respects.

  • Great car but some issues - 2007 Ford Edge

We fell in love with this car on the first sight and are still happy with it. But there are some points that need to be addressed by Ford. Our engine is whining as another reviewer described earlier. A very annoying high-pitch sound coming from the engine during acceleration and decelleration. The gas mileage is worse than the window sticker promised. We have hard time to make 18npg in the city traffic although we really try hard to drive as careful as possible. A bearing broke after 3000 miles on flat road.

  • Keeps Getting Better - 2007 Ford Edge

Every new Ford is better than the last, and this one is no exception. I love this car. Plenty of power, comfort, and room. At first, my friends said I bought a "chick car", but after riding in it, they figured out that its quite "gender neutral".

  • Ford Edge has the "Edge" - 2017 Ford Edge

We love our Edge, we think it is probably one of the hidden values these days. There is no comparison between the Edge and the Honda CRV we owned. The Edge has more space, better quality, more comfort, better electronics..... we could go on and on.

Make sure you take it for a good test drive

  • High end feel in a mid range SUV - 2016 Ford Edge

I recently purchased an AWD SE from my wife. I got to say that the overall value of the car is excellent. It rides like a much more expensive vehicle. Theres plenty of room to seat five, and the interior of the vehicle Has high grade materials. I do wish that the SE model had the sync three interactive infotainment system. The 2.0 turbo seems to be plenty powerful enough to pass in highway traffic. The Michelin tires are decent. A bit underwhelming in weather. There is plenty of cargo space. I love the overall look of the vehicle and the led lights that complement the rear of the vehicle. I find it to be a great value in the middle d size suv segment.

It has plenty of cargo room. Back seat has plenty of leg room, my 62" husband has no problem fitting in the backseat comfotabley

  • Awesome CUV - 2007 Ford Edge

Traded in my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 for the Ford Edge. Love the looks and style and do not miss my truck like I thought I would. Has a large cargo area and very fun to drive. Not to mention the better gas mileage. I was getting an average of 15 mpg with my dodge ram and according to the digital read-out on my new edge it says avg. 33 mp! So I am assuming I am getting an average of 33 mpg with it, but then again I have only put 233 miles on it. Handles great in the mountains, going up the hills. Very roomy interior and love all the cup holders. The lever to tilt the steering wheel is a little tough to operate, keep hitting my hairclip on the headrest and the speedometer gauge is hard to see.

This car is fun to drive. I use the navigation system constantly with my line of work. Open and airy. I constantly get comments about how nice the car looks. Handles great in the snow. Very fast and sport. Absolutely love this car. I almost bought another Ford Escape but changed my mind at the last minute, now I am glad I did. Great job Ford once again.

  • 07 Ford Edge + - 2007 Ford Edge

We have had our Edge for about a month now and are very pleased with the purchase. A couple of recommendations to Ford though: 1) the rear hatch needs to be power operated, 2) improve the vents on the drivers side, air seems to hit the steering wheel and doesnt cool the drive well. Initial quality has been outstanding. Built solid and has low road noise. Doesnt sit too high for my 52" wife to get in and out of, but is good hight for visibility. Gas mileage is fair, but we knew it wouldnt be great with the powerful 3.5L V-6.

  • The should I keep it or sell it decision for 8 yr - 2008 Ford Edge
    By -

The Edge still is a very comfortable cars after 5 years of ownership. This review is more for folks who are considering trading in or selling, and potential buyers. The PTU is notorious in the AWD, hence the drop in resale values. Ford dealerships refuse to drain and fill the gear oil. Please get this done every alternate engine oil change at a lube ot transmission shop, it is cheap insurance for PTU longevity. Suck out and refill through the fill plug. The TSS/OSS sensors will go out on this transmission, the transmission itself is rock solid. Spark plug change is a must at 80-90k miles, otherwise you risk a PCM failure. So if you are a buyer wanting to keep their Edge longer or seller doing their due diligence on buying it uses, pleae keep these factors in mind! Any other issues are to be expected in most used cars.
