Model Overview:

Crossovers with carlike ride and handling characteristics are perennially popular, and a good example of the breed is the smart-looking Ford Edge. It's a midsize crossover with seating for five. Thanks to its roomy interior, long list of amenities and available all-wheel drive, it's typically a good match for small- and medium-size families seeking a do-it-all utility vehicle.

In road tests, our editors have praised the Edge's quiet ride and advanced features like the MyFord Touch electronics interface, though as with most modern, in-car technology, there's a learning curve. Additionally, Ford offers a range of different engines in the Edge to appeal to crossover buyers seeking performance, fuel economy or a balance of both. Although the Ford Edge might not appeal to bigger families in need of high passenger capacity, it's a solid contender in most other respects.

  • Disappointed in my first Ford - 2015 Ford Edge
    By -

I love the exterior look of the new Edge, and the interior design and layout is top notch, rivaling the European luxury brands. However... Almost immediately after my purchase, my Edge Titanium was spending more time in the dealers service department than in my garage, due to either a manufacture issue or a design problem that caused a very annoying noise on the driver side (and now the passenger side) of the cabin. Ford didnt care enough to offer any assistance, and the car does not (yet) qualify for buy back per CA definifion of the Lemon Law. I am very disappointed in my first Ford experience. My advice is to stay away for now, or, if you must have one, proceed with caution!

  • Great except for front seats - 2015 Ford Edge

The new Edges is a great vehicle except for the plastic base of the front seats. Bolstering is good, but the plastic base sides prevent flexibility in the seat bottoms and prevent comfort on extended trips. Big miss for a great new design

  • I usually dont give 5 star reviews - 2008 Ford Edge
    By -

Bought my Edge at the beginning of 2009, was a demo with 9000 miles, to this date i just went over 52000 miles. Knock on wood ive had very little problems with the vehicle, mechanically or electronically. the rear tail lights burn out unusually fast, should have a recall on this. the sockets appear scorched. other than that its been basic maintenance on the vehicle. i changed the transmission oil at 50000 miles just to be safe. I also change the oil every 4000 miles with full synthetic mobil 1. the oil still looks good after 4000 miles! the front end seems to be riding hard as of late but it may need some gas struts replaced, most of my miles are city driving and joy riding

  • Driving in the Edge - 2015 Ford Edge
    By -

I test drove the Edge and loved it right away. I have the SEL V6 and most of the packages. I test drove a Toyota Highlander but it was noisier and I did not like the steering feel. I wanted to test a V6 Outback but there were none within 75 miles. This is my first vehicle with electronic steering and I liked it better than a CRV that I drove. The vehicle is quiet, smooth, comfortable and has plenty of headroom (Im 6-02). I cant rate reliability. Ive owned four Fords with no major problems. The Edge drives like a heavier sports car with a nice solid feel. Ford has stepped up their game when it comes to refinement.

  • Love the new Edge - 2015 Ford Edge

After having my new 2015 Edge for about 6 weeks I am overall very pleased. The 4cyl turbo charged engine is more powerful than the 6cyl that my 2008 Edge or 2013 Explorer had. It has great acceleration. The braking is much improved and does not have that mushy feel that many Ford vehicles have. The new exterior design is sportier and more sleek than the previous Edge. I love the new two tone leather interior giving it a higher end feel. I miss the power lift gate that my Explorer had and wish it was a standard feature. The interior cabin is much quieter than my last two vehicles. There are also more display features for fuel economy etc.

  • AC STINKS AND FORD KNOWS IT!!!!! NICE BUT PLASTICY INTERIOR - 2009 Ford Edge
    By -

Have had Our 09 EDGE SEL WITH VISTA ROOF for 2+ years and love most of it. This car has been great except for the air conditioning. If the temp outside is over 75 degrees...FORGET ABOUT IT! AC STINKS ARSE. Have had it recharged and tested.Have cleaned filter screen behind glove box.Weak as water!IthinkFORDshould be ashamed of themselves they know this AC system sucks and should be responsible and RECALL all EDGES 2007-2010. Have heard they know it is a manufacture defect that causes some of the refrigerant to bypass the condenser! Everyone I know who has an EDGE says the same thing...The AC STINKS!!!!!!!!!! IF you are looking to buy one test drive it on a very hot day with salesman.

  • Review for anyone tall - 2013 Ford Edge
    By -

If youre a tall person and in the market for a crossover, give the Ford Edge a serious look. Im 65 220# and have plenty of room in all directions. The driver seat has many settings for your comfort. Now for the rest, I never thought Id buy a Ford but I love this vehicle. The V6 really moves and looks great while doing it. The ride is smooth and quiet. The sound system is crisp and clear. I dont have a phone with Bluetooth but Sync works really good with my i-touch. My only complaint so far is the transmission. It really doesnt like 2nd gear and reading other reviews it seems to be a known issue with the Edge. Highly recommend this vehicle especially if youre tall.

  • BLOWN ENGINE :( - 2011 Ford Edge
    By -

2011 Ford Edge with a bad water pump that blew up and ruined the engine at 91,000 miles. Light came on, car jerked, pulled over and towed to Ford Dealer. Blown water pump caused engine oil and antifreeze to mix and destroy the engine. Now the car dealer needs $5000 to replace with a rebuilt engine. Took a check for car, not going to purchase another Ford at this time.

  • Cant See Out - 2014 Ford Edge
    By -

Right rear axle seal leaked immediately, three days for dealer repair. 14 degrees this morning, windows fogging and defrost sadly can not clear side view of even the mirrors. Embarrassing to have this when showing off our new car. Fuel consumption worse than my V8 pickup.

  • Those nice Chrome 19" Wheel Covers - 2011 Ford Edge
    By -

When you purchase an Edge or other Ford product, make sure you ask what the various parts are made of. My "Chrome Clad" wheels are actually Chrome "Foil" bonded to plastic. Who hasnt hit a pothole or scraped a curb when parking... if you do you cannot simply buy a replacement "hub cap" ... you have to buy the entire wheel at a cost well above $800 per wheel!!!!! When I wrote to Ford Executives about the matter ... they simply said "buyer beware"... Fool me once shame on you. I will NEVER buy a Ford again. I feel lied to and cant help but wonder what else is plastic that we think is metal??????
