Model Overview:

Crossovers with carlike ride and handling characteristics are perennially popular, and a good example of the breed is the smart-looking Ford Edge. It's a midsize crossover with seating for five. Thanks to its roomy interior, long list of amenities and available all-wheel drive, it's typically a good match for small- and medium-size families seeking a do-it-all utility vehicle.

In road tests, our editors have praised the Edge's quiet ride and advanced features like the MyFord Touch electronics interface, though as with most modern, in-car technology, there's a learning curve. Additionally, Ford offers a range of different engines in the Edge to appeal to crossover buyers seeking performance, fuel economy or a balance of both. Although the Ford Edge might not appeal to bigger families in need of high passenger capacity, it's a solid contender in most other respects.

  • This is a Ford? - 2007 Ford Edge

After driving my new toy about 1800 miles, I am loving it. It looks great inside and out. Now, we are trading my wifes Expedition in next week for a second Edge. It feels safe and sturdy.

  • What Murano? - 2007 Ford Edge

My wife and I trade in a 2006 Nissan Murano for the new Edge and have never looked back. The quality of ride and noise reduction are much greater. Then add 2.5 mpg improvement and the fact we dont need to put in Premium, I figure well save two lease payments a year in gas. The Egde has gotten noticed too. Our neighbors who currently have an 05 Murano are now looking at going to the Edge once their lease is up.

  • Go drive it... - 2007 Ford Edge

As a life-long Dodge guy, I was apprehensive about my wifes suggestion to check out the new Ford Edge, but Im glad I did. After months of looking at others, we settled on a fully loaded Edge SEL+. The most striking feature is how it doesnt look like everything else out there. The interior fit and feel was great, and gauges and dials were nicely laid out. The only downside was that it was difficult to locate the exact vehicle we wanted. We were told by the dealership that the hold up was factory caused due to issues with the Vista roof. The Vista roof is highly innovative and well worth the extra money. V-6 engine feels well mated with the smooth 6 speed tranny. Nice vehicle!

  • Luv My Edge - 2007 Ford Edge

I have had the Edge for about a month, and I cannot find anything I do not like about it. Comfortable, responsive, smooth and very stylish. I work in the auto business, and sell the Land Rover product, but this is all of the Land Rover LR2, and more. Fuel economy is running at 18 MPG for local driving. I lease the Edge for 24 months, and the payment is excellent.

  • The Edge is a Blast! - 2007 Ford Edge

After waiting 4 weeks for our Edge to come, we are totally thrilled by the ride, comfort, and the powerful V6. Ford, job well done!

  • 2017 SEL 3.5L V6 - 2017 Ford Edge
    By -

We were looking for a Mid-size SUV for my wife, so we drove anything and everything she thought she might like. When it was all said and done she chose the Ford Edge SEL. She was coming out of a V6 car with 275HP, so she wanted a vehicle that had the power she was used to. The 3.5L V6 offered 280 HP (Couldnt choose this engine in the drop-down list above, as it wasnt there?) We were looking at comfort and utility over gas mileage for this vehicle, but the Edge gives us both of those things and still gets close to 20 MPG around town. The roomy SUV rides like a car, and is just the right size for us. Its nimble enough to make city driving more than bearable, and roomy enough to make everyday chores and travel a breeze. Its the perfect vacation vehicle. easy and fun to drive, very roomy and comfortable over extended trips, and has plenty of power. The interior is very nicely appointed, and we love the technology. we have 4 Fords sitting in our driveway, and the 2017 Ford Edge is a great addition to our family.

  • Nice Ride - 2016 Ford Edge

I have had my 2016 Edge SEL 2.0 for a few weeks so I dont have a full review yet. I had test drove the V6 but bought it with the 2.0 4cyl. I was concerned about engine vibration on a 4 cylinder but its not a problem and the car rides quietly and shifts smoothly. For normal driving the 2.0 is more than adequate and I came out of a V6 Murano. I want to correct Edmunds stats. The fuel recommendations for the 2.0 is regular fuel not below 87 octane as per the users manual, premium is not needed.

  • Ford Edge AWD SEL+ = Best vehicle 4 me - 2007 Ford Edge

Spent 3 months looking for CUV. Tried the Edge, CRV, RAV4, Pilot, Outlander, VUE, CX-7, & CX-9. Came down to the CX- 7 & the Edge. After driving them back to back, the Edge came out on top. Not as "sporty", but V-6 feels stronger than the Turbo 4 & burns regular. Vista Roof is incredible. Its like having a convertible CUV. Nav & Sound system are great, along with SIRIUS. Got Black/Black with the 18" chrome wheels...fantastic looking vehicle just adds to great driving experience. Contrary to a magazine review I read, brakes work very well. I may even buy a few shares of Ford stock - the Edge is that good. Great follow-up to the Fusion/Milan/MKZ. Proves they can build best-in-class autos.

  • Love it! - 2007 Ford Edge

Bought mine a month ago, and I love this car more and more every day. I have had no problems. It drives well, feels tight, great looking exterior, and tasteful interior with buttons in all the right places. This is my second Ford, but wont be my last.

  • Space Age Technology in Your Car - 2016 Ford Edge

We looked at a variety of smaller SUVs... downsizing from an 11 year old Tahoe Z71. We waited for the Ford Edge 2016 to gain the Sync 3 and Drivers Assist package. The Sync 3 is very easy to navigate. My son has a 2015 Explorer Sport with the Ford Touch and its not near as user friendly. I must admit it was a bit unnerving the first time I started to change lanes on the freeway WITHOUT turning on my turn signal and then have the steering nudge me back into my own lane. Now I remember to use the signal. LOL. The Edge is an extremely quiet ride and the interior is nicely appointed with soft surfaces everywhere. We got a Pearl White Titanium AWD with all the options with the Ceramic interior. We special ordered the Edge and it was well worth the wait.
