Model Overview:

Crossovers with carlike ride and handling characteristics are perennially popular, and a good example of the breed is the smart-looking Ford Edge. It's a midsize crossover with seating for five. Thanks to its roomy interior, long list of amenities and available all-wheel drive, it's typically a good match for small- and medium-size families seeking a do-it-all utility vehicle.

In road tests, our editors have praised the Edge's quiet ride and advanced features like the MyFord Touch electronics interface, though as with most modern, in-car technology, there's a learning curve. Additionally, Ford offers a range of different engines in the Edge to appeal to crossover buyers seeking performance, fuel economy or a balance of both. Although the Ford Edge might not appeal to bigger families in need of high passenger capacity, it's a solid contender in most other respects.

We have only had the Edge for 3 weeks and 1200 clicks but so far we are very impressed. The handling, comfort and ride is excellent. I dont think we could of picked a better all around driver.

  • Great 5 passenger SUV - 2017 Ford Edge

Look at this SUV before you buy something else. Has a multitude of features and is comfortable to drive or be a passenger. Electronics package is easy to use and very comprehensive. Our Edge is a Titanium model with the V6 engine in it. Edmunds did not provide that option in the selection of vehicles.

  • Nice Vehicle - 2007 Ford Edge

Bought in Feb 07 and have found it to be a great vehicle, fun to drive, and very roomy. Ford all around did a nice job for a 1st year vehicle and entrance into a new market. Looked at Toyota Highlander and Saturn Outlook. Even looked at a couple of vans and went with the Edge. Mileage is OK. Im now getting 17.3 around town but you have to let the mileage calculation span over a couple of tanks of gas to get a more accurate reading. I would definetely recommend seriously considering it if youre in the market for new vehicle.

  • Paint issues - 2007 Ford Edge

Ive had my Edge for two months now. My bigest problem has been with the paint. The paint has dirt in it or small defects in it. Ford motor Co has agreed to repaint the whole vehicle for me. I should have it back in another week. If the paint job is perfect then Ill will be toatlly happy with my new Edge.

  • Surprisingly a great crossover! - 2007 Ford Edge

I wanted an SUV that had the comfort of a nice car and this fit the bill. Its a very smooth ride and ultra quiet at any speed. It handles like a dream in snow with the traction control. The 265 HP engine really accelerates like a sporty car.

A dream to drive, quick response, smooth shifting and braking.

  • 11 months of satisfaction - 2017 Ford Edge

I purchased my Edge 11 months ago. I compared it with an Acura RD-X (rode rough for my taste), Lexus RX350 (too $$$), and the new Honda CR-V (nice, but a little too small) . Because of my large amount of driving, I went for the Ecoboost 4 rather than the 6, and it has turned out to be an excellent compromise between power (acceleration) and fuel economy. I do a long commute, and I appreciate the ease of driving it as well as the mileage of 23-25 mpg in all conditions. My family of three has taken it from the Bay Area to Tahoe with a full load of luggage, and it had enough performance to handle it comfortably, even through a snowstorm on the way back. We also own a 2012 Toyota Highlander, and the Edge is far more smooth, quiet, and refined than the Highlander, and gets better mileage as well. I am over 6, so it is more comfortable as well. I use Android Auto with the Sony audio system, and the audio system is satisfactory to my non-audiophile hearing. Would definitely recommend the Titanium 302A package just for the proximity sensors, which aid in backing up.

  • car is great - 2013 Ford Edge

I bought my 2013 edge used at 70,000 I immediately had Ford change all the fluids. I did have two minor problems which I was able to fix myself 1. The canister purge valve which cost $50 at autozone and about 10 min of my time Ford wanted $80 for diagnosis and $150 for repair and 2. The annoying door ajar issue I fixed this by buying a $7 can of electronics spray for moving parts and sprayed it into the the door latch mechanism again Ford wanted $80 for diagnosis and $300 for repair. I havent had the issue come up again and its been five months. Other than that I love the car mine came without sync which I didnt mind. I average about 23-25 city and 28-30 hwy I love the car.

  • Happy Purchaser - 2017 Ford Edge

My Edge has over 7,000 miles now and Im very happy with my purchase. Very smooth ride, good acceleration with nice features. Its a perfect size with room for people and cargo yet weve been getting 25 to 27 combined mpg.

  • Love it - 2013 Ford Edge

I love this car inside out. There is very minimal road noise which I like. Its solid. In heavy snow it does slide a little but when the awd kicks in it rights itself very quick luckily I have not had to repair anything at all. I have about 24000 miles on it and so far no problems. The engine has good get up and go when you need it with the v6. I would recommend this car over and over.
