Overview & Reviews
Crossovers with carlike ride and handling characteristics are perennially popular, and a good example of the breed is the smart-looking Ford Edge. It's a midsize crossover with seating for five. Thanks to its roomy interior, long list of amenities and available all-wheel drive, it's typically a good match for small- and medium-size families seeking a do-it-all utility vehicle.
In road tests, our editors have praised the Edge's quiet ride and advanced features like the MyFord Touch electronics interface, though as with most modern, in-car technology, there's a learning curve. Additionally, Ford offers a range of different engines in the Edge to appeal to crossover buyers seeking performance, fuel economy or a balance of both. Although the Ford Edge might not appeal to bigger families in need of high passenger capacity, it's a solid contender in most other respects.

Ford Edge has the "Edge" - 2017 Ford Edge
By Philip Grafious - October 6 - 12:31 pmWe love our Edge, we think it is probably one of the hidden values these days. There is no comparison between the Edge and the Honda CRV we owned. The Edge has more space, better quality, more comfort, better electronics..... we could go on and on.

Awesome CUV - 2007 Ford Edge
By DANA - July 3 - 2:53 amTraded in my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 for the Ford Edge. Love the looks and style and do not miss my truck like I thought I would. Has a large cargo area and very fun to drive. Not to mention the better gas mileage. I was getting an average of 15 mpg with my dodge ram and according to the digital read-out on my new edge it says avg. 33 mp! So I am assuming I am getting an average of 33 mpg with it, but then again I have only put 233 miles on it. Handles great in the mountains, going up the hills. Very roomy interior and love all the cup holders. The lever to tilt the steering wheel is a little tough to operate, keep hitting my hairclip on the headrest and the speedometer gauge is hard to see.

love this car! - 2007 Ford Edge
By colleen - June 10 - 6:10 pmThis car is fun to drive. I use the navigation system constantly with my line of work. Open and airy. I constantly get comments about how nice the car looks. Handles great in the snow. Very fast and sport. Absolutely love this car. I almost bought another Ford Escape but changed my mind at the last minute, now I am glad I did. Great job Ford once again.

07 Ford Edge + - 2007 Ford Edge
By Randy - Dothan, AL - May 18 - 8:13 amWe have had our Edge for about a month now and are very pleased with the purchase. A couple of recommendations to Ford though: 1) the rear hatch needs to be power operated, 2) improve the vents on the drivers side, air seems to hit the steering wheel and doesnt cool the drive well. Initial quality has been outstanding. Built solid and has low road noise. Doesnt sit too high for my 52" wife to get in and out of, but is good hight for visibility. Gas mileage is fair, but we knew it wouldnt be great with the powerful 3.5L V-6.

Sporty Luxury Crossover - 2015 Ford Edge
By Richard W - April 27 - 3:31 pmThe EDGE Sport has lots of bells and whistles including Front/Rear climate controlled seats and terrific safety features (blind spot, peripheral collision warnings, front/rear cameras, parking assist). Surprisingly excellent, effortless and smooth acceleration from a 4cyl. Sleek body style, keyless entry, remote start and comforts a plus. Fords SYNC system is a little daunting to setup, because of the 400K possible voice commands controlling entertainment, climate, comm, and nav systems. The spectacular panoramic moon roof stretches the length of the vehicle. Roomy lighted cargo area with rear seats up (including electric rear seat controls accessible near the hatch) and handsfree lift gate that sounds a safety alarm when opening and closing. It would be nice to have a handstrap on the gate for manual operation and a bumper step, otherwise, its solid. Lots of USB and accessory ports! The only downside is Fords 60K warranty. Doesnt cover all electrical. However, I found that the extended coverage was price negotiable. Overall a pretty good value for the $42K price (incl TTL).

Edge Gets Two Thumbs Up - 2008 Ford Edge
By mlerysk - March 1 - 7:26 pmTested every 08 CUV on the market and bought the Edge. Great 2nd row leg room with easy-to-use recline feature, as well as comfortable seating both front and back. Ridiculously fun to drive, handles well and gives driver an intuitive feel when behind the wheel. Modern styling with a good-looking, rugged-stance. Sync, navigation and Vista Roof options take an already well-designed vehicle to the next level of driver integration. Progressive, comfortable, responsive, solid and tight, the Edge is well priced in its class. A must to compare if youre in the CUV market. The more I drive it, the happier I am to own it. This vehicle grows on you with each passing day.

Finally got one right - 2007 Ford Edge
By pudley - January 2 - 12:56 amWe drove the Murano before deciding on the Egde. Murano CVT simply could not decide what to do with itself - very annoying. The Edge does everything very well and it is screwed together like nothing else we drove. Good vision, comfortable for driver and passengers, fully featured and it gets a lot of admiring looks. Maybe there is hope for the American car industry after all.
