Overview & Reviews
The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy's entry in the highly competitive compact truck segment. Like its rivals, the Colorado is closer to midsize than truly compact. Accordingly, it offers a reasonable amount of hauling capability without the added cost and bulk of a full-size pickup. As is customary in this segment, Chevrolet offers extended-cab and four-door crew-cab layouts, multiple bed lengths and available off-road preparation.
Older versions of the Chevy Colorado could be worth a look if you need a basic work truck, but their four- and five-cylinder engines are weak for this class (though you may find a few examples with a robust optional V8 engine). Colorados from 2015 and later are dramatically better, with competitive powertrains, up-to-date technology features and a spacious interior.

Great mid-size - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
By Justin Kay - December 12 - 7:26 amThe other reviews I have read are nowhere near my experience. I have owned this truck for a year and I absolutely love it. The fuel economy is tremendous and the overall value of the truck has been terrific. The MyLink is a little wonky at times, but the overall driving experience of the truck far surpasses that of the 2012 Silverado that I owned before this truck.

Waited a long time - Awesome Truck!!! - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
By Brad Heath - November 2 - 11:01 amI researched this truck for months before seeing in person and test driving. I didnt want a full-size due to my urban lifestyle but wanted the benefits of having a truck for towing/hauling when the time comes. The truck is amazing, no complaints at all. The engine, drive-train, mileage, ride, technology...etc all speaks for it self. Im 63 (200 lbs) and I can fit in the truck easily with great comfort. I constantly receive compliments about her, shes a real GM gem.

4 Months and 12,000 Miles later! - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
By Scott - October 16 - 9:24 pmIve been driving the crap out of this truck. Commuting, towing a small camper, back roading in Colorado, carrying people... Not a single mechanical complaint. Numerous comments from passengers that the ride is unexpectedly good. Lower wind noise than expected... I never had infotainment stuff before. It works fine. Love the backup camera. With a cap on the back it is a must-have. Still getting used to the length. The long wheel base long bed crew is just as long as a full size truck. Way bigger than my old RAV4. The front bumper finish seems a little delicate. I have several nicks from bugs or whatever that have gone though the beautiful red paint and now black is showing. Also, as everyone says, the air dam is aweful for a 4WD. Scraped it several times driving mild 4WD roads in CO. However, despite some peoples claims that they hit theirs on parking curbs, etc... I drive the tires right up to those to make sure the back end isnt sticking out and it has NEVER scraped. Im not a smug elitist, but it is cool to have many people admiring it and commenting on it. I put a Century cap on it. It has a 2 inch rise above the trucks roof line. It totally changes the look of the truck by taking the straight line of the bed rails away. Makes it look squattier and beefier. I really like it.

Colorado: You ROCK! - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
By Doug - August 6 - 10:55 pmI have owned a Tacoma and a Frontier. Both were great trucks. The Colorado is the best truck I have had. It is comfortable. Smooth ride. Outstanding interior. Awesome exterior. The technology is top rate. I love driving it. I have received a lot of people checking it out and asking me about it. I am very happy with my purchase and would encourage others to buy a Chevy.

Great truck but listing complaints here - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
By vprgtsr001 - March 31 - 3:39 pmLove the truck. had it over 1 mo now. Have fully loaded z71 package but would like to see two things, heated side mirrors (really? common chevy) and second, collision and lane departure options available to z71 trim. i built the truck online and NOWHERE at the time did it say these safety options were only available to LT trim. When you clicked each trim it said you get everything from the trim before plus additional items. My fault for not confirming at the dealership but again, why wouldnt you make this available for your top trim. Thats like making leather only available for base model.

2008 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab - 130,000 mile review - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado
By dstanzini - February 19 - 5:39 amI must say, Ive always had Silverados before but was looking for something a little netter fuel-wise and lower to the ground for my elderly parents to be able to get in and out of. I am rather impressed with this little truck. Ive put 130,000 mile on it and the only issue I had was the water pump went at about 80,000, but it was covered under warranty. The only other annoying little issue is that the rear brake squeak after awhile. There is brake dust that builds up in there. This truck has a snow plow in the winter and I tow a trailer for the band and my classic 55 Chevy so I am not easy on it. Towing up hill is a little rough. Gas mileage is decent about 22 hwy and about 17-18 city

Very Surprised.. And Happy with my Colorado - 2006 Chevrolet Colorado
By colorred - April 7 - 11:31 amI bought my Colorado used with only 48K miles on the OD. Ive doubled that and it still runs like a top. Ill admit I was a bit of a skeptic but saw some positive reviews and Im glad I took the chance. The inline 5 is a great engine, though not overly powerful it suits my needs perfectly. The crew cab has lots of comfortable space. So far (knock on wood) Ive only performed regular maintenance and it hasnt required any repair needs. I keep the brake pads changed perhaps a little more often than normal as I was told new rotor replacements will be big bucks. They werent designed to be changed easily.
