Overview & Reviews
The Avalanche gets numerous interior upgrades for '03 in addition to the midyear introduction of a "decladded" version that does without the oft-derided extensive lower body trim. Dual-zone climate control is now standard equipment on all models along with multistage airbags and a passenger airbag sensor. A redesigned instrument panel houses a more comprehensive driver information display; and an optional multifunction steering wheel puts climate, radio and trip computer controls right in the palm of your hands. New entertainment options include a Bose stereo system, XM Satellite Radio and a rear passenger DVD video system. Other new options include the StabiliTrak stability control system on 2WD half-ton models, adjustable pedals, and a fully automatic multizone climate control system.
- Versatile and innovative cab configuration, strong V8 engines, substantial towing ability.
- Some cheap interior pieces, lifeless steering, limited drivetrain choices.

Avalanche - 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Dnk inc - September 7 - 2:00 amThe avalance is a fun to drive truck. This truck allows me to haul the equipment needed for work but aso gives me the freedom to take my family places on the weekends. The extended bed allows for more hauling space. I can carry 8ft of drywall or other material. Overall, the avalanche has the best of both worlds.

This truck is great! - 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Jerryishere - August 8 - 10:00 amThis truck has the ride of a luxury vehicle as compared to other trucks that I have owned in the past. It handles very well as compared to other trucks I test drove before purchasing this one. Others seemed to be top heavy and leaned when making turns. The Avalanche has a very stable and quiet ride.

Dream truck - 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche
By volnole - July 18 - 1:58 pmFrom the minute I first saw an advertisement for an Avalanche, I knew it would be my next vehicle. It has never disappointed me in the four years Ive had it. On long trips it is absolutely ideal, with plenty of room for luggage as well as our three dogs. The ride is smooth, leg room is plentiful, and it handles like a luxury car. I would recommend buying an Avalanche to anyone whos ever thought of getting a large SUV.

I almost love it - 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Jeff Martin - April 23 - 12:17 amI have enjoyed this vehicle greatly. My biggest negative was the average in- town gas mileage of 12.5mpg with the 5.3liter engine. Had I known that ahead of time I would have bought the 2500 model with the 8.1 liter which gets almost the same mileage with 50% more horsepower and tons more torque. The body integrity is about what you expect from Chevrolet. When it falls off you can put it back on, if you can find it. I dont know of any other truck in the maketplace Id rather have so when I buy again I look at the Avalanche first.

Drives like a car, looks like a truck - 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche
By TruckLuvR - April 21 - 10:00 amSuper truck! A co-worker who owned one tried to get us to try one. We didnt like the style so never test drove it. Then it came out WBH. Awesome! We actually prefer this over our Chevy Suburban. Extremely quiet, smooth riding, great turning radius. Luv the door ajar alert, rear center shoulder belt, roominess. But it is a little nerve racking when backing up.

Best Truck Ever! - 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Andrew - April 10 - 10:13 amI love my 2003 Avalanche. It is the Northface Package with the cool grey leather and the grey metallic paint. My truck has everything and I bought a superchip and programed it. Also I put some nice tires on the stock rims, looks sweet. Also I chromed all the stock stuff out. For example, the back Chevy letters bought on ebay. MPG is pretty good in city, stays around 14, and highway about 19. The chip seems to help with my MPG.

Comales - 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche
By COMALES - March 29 - 12:11 pmI never wanted an Avalanche but when I saw it in the lot, I just had to have it. Ever since, I never regret buying an Avalanche, its never let me down, on the road and on the beach. Family owns Ford trucks but Im representing Chevy.

Comfort with an Attitude - 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Furman Evans - March 27 - 10:00 amThis is one of the most comfortable vehicles I have ever driven. The seats provide the comfort a body needs. The quiet ride and sharp turning radius provide an unexpected pleasure in a vehicle like this. The onboard phone has worked without cuts outs in every area I have tried. Its extremely clear and integrates perfectly with the radio speaker system.
