Overview & Reviews
XLE and XLE Limited models now offer a power-adjustable passenger seat.
- Smooth ride, refined V6, fold-flat 60/40 third-row seat, seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations, great fuel economy, available all-wheel drive.
- A bit too much lean in the corners, seat comfort and noise isolation could be better, expensive option packages.

A Great Family Vehicle - 2005 Toyota Sienna
By Herbert - November 28 - 5:00 pmThis is a great vehicle for family. Roomy, comfortable, smooth and quite ride, excellent details such as grocery hooks, handles and reading light for every seat except the middle 3rd row seat (understandably). Excellent stereo sound. Really fun to drive (its not a sport sedan of course). Excellent reliability (ok, I only have 4,000 km on this van, but from my previous ownerships of 12 years for a Previa and 9 years for a Camry.)

Smooth ride - 2005 Toyota Sienna
By bsedgal - November 27 - 10:29 amWe got this van 4 years ago and it had 95K miles. It was the xle limited version with all the bells and whistles. Heated leather seats, rear ac controls, pull down built-in blinds, dvd player with separate head phones. Interior and exterior are great. We now have 180K miles and major mechanical has been very reliable on this van. No engine or transmission problems. I have been good at keeping up with the maintenance schedule- oil changes every 4k, timing belt & water pump done, tranny fluid change every year. Problems: expensive & multiple sliding door issues involving clostly motors and actuators going out. Radiator crack at 170K miles, rear coil spring break at 160k.

Great 1st Minivan - 2005 Toyota Sienna
By pazman - November 5 - 2:53 pmThis is our first endeavour into the minivan world. As BMW and Subaru drivers, this was a new experience for us. Suprisingly, we love to drive it! It drives like the car and there are many more comfort features than in the BMW. During our first week, we put it through the paces with a 300 mile trip to our vacation. MPG was awesome at 26 MPG. Navigating through the cabin to take care of our son was a breeze. The seats fold down/up so quickly, it is extremely useful. And the ride, no matter where you are sitting is extremely comfortable. We made the right decision with this vehicle.

American Spec XLE 8-Seater - 2005 Toyota Sienna
By XLE 8-Seater - October 17 - 4:06 pmPurchased this rare optioned Sienna in Germany for military service members. It has sonar parking assist and 8 cloth seats, otherwise, it is a standard XLE. Wonderful car! Fits my criteria for the perfect minivan: quiet, smooth ride that offers best environment for conversations within the vehicle. Great power in reserve for those situations when you really need it, like merging onto freeways. Nice bells and whistles (described below) combined with great reliability and quality has resulted in a near perfect people hauler. Safety features such as 3-row curtain bags, Vehicle Stability Control, TRAC, and four- wheel disc anti-lock brakes provide peace of mind. Videos in rear is nice.

2005 Sienna failures - 2005 Toyota Sienna
By bahnted - August 9 - 3:20 pmMy Sienna ran fine for first 36,000 miles. The next 20,000 miles have had numerous failures: 1) Fuel injector - $383; 2) Catalytic converter - warranty $0; 3) Fuel hose disconnect - $105 leaving me stranded 20 miles from Cody, WY; 4) Drivers door check strap $380 - the door can fold back against the fender making closure impossible! I wrote and contacted Toyota Customer Service. They initially refused to do anything, taking no responsibility. After I wrote Seiichi Sudo, President and CEO, suddenly they wanted to "help" with a $600 good faith payment on nearly $900 of repairs. I now find the door check strap cannot be re-welded and door must be replaced, a $2000 repair! Stay away!

2005 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited AWD - 2005 Toyota Sienna
By Last Toyota - August 3 - 9:06 pmI grew up as a Toyota person and my first car was a Toyota Supra, then Celica GT, then another Celica GT. Now I have a Sienna with every option possible and unbenounced to me, I have lived the past two years as the most frustrated person owning a vehicle. The warranty support by Toyota is poor at best when comparing to Honda...thus the need for extensive warranty in the first 24 months speaks to itself. Never say never...but my intent is to rid myself of this Toyota and never own another Toyota product.

My whole family loves the minivan - 2005 Toyota Sienna
By Herbert Liu - July 16 - 10:50 amThe Sienna is truly best overall minivan for (big) family. It is the roomiest among all and with tasteful and functional interior. The powerful 3.3L is very capable of handling highway passing. Its handling is almost as good as the best in class Odyssey.
